Cheap hosting

I've found three virtual hosting companies which have lots of storage, good bandwidth, and are very low cost. I know everyone has their favorites, but rather than recommending your favorite host here, I would just like to know if there are any known issues with these...

or

or

http://www.velcom.com/

Many of the low cost virtual hosting plans have 2 gig storage limits. I'm not there yet, but could be soon at the rate I am going..., so I want to make sure I've got plenty of disk space.

When I start making the big bucks, budget might be less a concern, but for now I'd like to keep the cost down...

I'd be curious myself if anybody has any feed back on Naked Hosting and Dreamhost. It sounds too good to be true with those huge amounts of storage and bandwidth for such a small price.

Been with dreamhost but moved to webair because of the frequent network outages they had at that time.

If you get on a good server at dreamhost, you can be sure you can burn all the trafic you get with your plan, but I would not reccomend you dreamhost.

If it sounds too good to be true, it is. I had a ton of stuff on DH but, was plagued by frequent downtime and slow servers. I have since moved to Colo, but kept the DH account (just can't turn down all that traffic almost for free).

But I would not put anything there that I submit to LLs or that required a script or a database. I use it for static hub-style/SEO pages and blogs that use scripts/databases hosted on my dedicated server @ Colo.

You also need to understand that support can be very slow there.

You will never use all that supposed cheap bandwidth at Dreamhost, I had a couple of galleries listed at the Hun and their servers couldn't cope. Steer clear of DH.

Remember that you get what you pay for. I tried to go cheap and it is not worth it.

I understand that you do not want recommendations but take a look at www.colo-cation.com for $20 is hard to beat.

colo-cation is highly recommended here, but there are two problems I have with them..

1. The two gig storage limit on virtual hosting
2. Two emails asking about getting more than the two gigs went unanswered.

Thanks for all the replies. I did a search and there's lots of good info.

for cheap hosting, velcom seems to have the least negative marks against them...of course it could be thay are not widely used.

Well while I would certainly like the opportunity to earn your business the host in your list that I have heard the most favorable comments about would be Naked hosting.

So.....do you recommend I go with your competitor..:D

I appreciate your response, and your prices look good, and the 5 gig storage would probably do me for quite some time. Note that your Small Business package listing says 5 gig, but if you click on "order" the 5 gig becomes 2 gig...what's the deal?

And Naked bottom end plan offers 100 gig...why such a huge difference?

Nope, Nope, Nope they are good peeps over there but I would much prefer you place the business with us.

In regards to the 5 GB discrepancy, I am currently checking on that but irregardless I will honor the 5 GB's of storage for you.

As to the BW all I can say is that I know we have exceptional peering and never oversell our capacity, which helps to ensure fast transfer across our network. If you need a little more BW to sweeten the deal let me know and I will ask to see what I can do on that for you.

Given the opportunity I am confident that you will like the service and ROI that you get from hosting with Caro.Net.

cool, note however I am more concerned (at least for now) with storage (disk space) than bandwidth. The 20 gig transfer is plenty for now.

Well go ahead and sign up and if for some reason it doesn't automatically give you the 5 GB's, just let me know and I will have it corrected for you.

Thanks in advance,

I tried contacting you on ICQ. I would love to earn your business! Naked Hosting has been in business since 1999 and has a great reputation in the hosting industry. Thanks Mark for the kind words:)

It is a great deal and even though it may sound to good to be true, it is true! We didn't just throw up these plans with no intent on honoring our storage and bandwidth limits. We do have a reputation to uphold;) If you are still not convinced, we have a 30 day money back guarantee, no questions asked.

Hit me up directly if you have any additional questions: tondab at nakedhosting dot com or ICQ 61462417
