PLEASE CONSIDER THIS [2257]

If I you have a personal or professional interest in the adult entertainment business, you need to consider how the federal government is reacting to it with the proposed changes to 2257.

Send your digital comments to this email with this exact subject:
To: admin.ceos@usdoj.gov
Subject: Docket No. CRM 104

The body of your email should entail how this law effects your business/interests in the adult entertainment business, in detail, without emotional statements. Your letter needs to demonstrate that the law is not effective at controlling child pronography and only serves to inhibit anyone who partakes in the adult industry. This law was made by people who assume we are all scum bags, which is so far from the truth, so lets prove ourselves once and for all!

If anyone is not up to date on the 2257 regulations, I will summarize in very brief terms:
If you work in the biz 2257 will put so much extra work and rules on you that you might be out of a job.
If you are a porn-looker, you might not be one for long.

My emailing you is supported by the Free Speech Coalition and the Gay and Lesbian Task Force – feel free to visit their websites for more data and support:

YOU HAVE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 10TH TO ACT!
If you do not act, you do not get to be upset about 2257 being overly burdonseome or putting out of work.

I've spent my entire life being upset about things I failed to act on. I doubt you have the ability to stop my bitching and I doubt that'll I care if you try.

I posted about the GLTF getting involved in this thread.

I wonder how the DOJ is going to react with the gay and lesbian community jumping in. Especially with the AG A.G. now history, and no replacement in sight.

Actually, won't the incredibly burdensome requirements of increasingly strict 2257 record-keeping also create a huge boom in clerical job openings throughout the porn business? Plus there will be all the folks who'll be creating new scripts and applications to track that information, and the people who'll build the new websites to sell those new scripts. And of course, if you do want a career change, there will be huge numbers of legal firms branching out into adult porn law, and they'll all need consultants and expert witnesses.

There's always a silver lining you know.

Plus, this is all so 20th Century.

So does anybody know what the outcome was? Or is it still in the works?

The process continues...

However, the validity of the process itself is now being questioned.

An article of Obenberge cutting the new regs to pieces regarding creating a "monster" of ambiguity.|confused||huh
- What date should a secondary producer use????
- Where/What 2257 notices are supposed to be????
- Recording transitory URLs. As in today on the main page, tomorrow on archive page #1. next week on archive page #6, etc.

Yup, and this silver lining is for all us non-US citizens who do not have to worry about 2257, so at last have an advantage over you lot for once.
