Good Morning
Just one short appointment this morning and then the week is done :) Well, kind of done.

Good? Morning

All I wanted to do was build a free site and go to the concert last night.
So about 3 yesterday afternoon I started on my free site when the phone rang. It was my cousin in Mo. My dad was in an accident at the farm.
Seems he was helping his buddy pick cotton and he was kicking cotton into the front of the picker. His pant leg got caght in the spindle and pulled him in. The spindles in the machine chewed his leg to hell and back from the knee down.
He was air lifted to Cape Girardeau yesterday afternoon and they did surgery upon landing but they couldn't save his leg and amputated several inches above the knee last night.
I'm waiting to talk to doctors and medicine types this am and then probably taking an extended leave. I've got an old man to take care of and there's 1500 acres of cotton in the field . I might have to take a crash course in farming.
In the mean time, I'm practicing what I preach. "When the goin gets tough, the tough get stoned"

FanTC, damn I hope all the best. My Dad lost his foot from repeated blood clots in December. He is still adjusting to getting around but surprisingly in good spirits, it doesn't bother him at all.

About two years ago both my wife's parents were in a motorcycle accident. An 80 year old woman just turned straight into them in Redbud,Ill. They were airlifted to SLU and my mother in law was actually pronounced D.O.A. They ended up giving her 36pints of blood in all. She did recover.My mother-in-law lost her left leg at the scene and my father in law's left leg was crushed so badly they had to amputate.

So my prayers are with you and your father.

Temps are still over 90, but as the weather d00d said last week, humidity has been down. I've actually spent a little time outside this week.

Damn sorry to hear about your dad's troubles, FanTC, and all good wishes for him to make a strong recovery.

Lots of things to get done here today, so I'll just say I hope you, and everyone else who wants one, has a better today than yesterday.

Just more of the same for today. My life is really very boring and mundane.

That bites FanTC, if you need any help keeping your empire up and running while your picking cotton let me know. My advice for anyone in severe pain is get the Doctors to switch you from the morphine pump to the daluadid pump.

Going to crank and get some Friday stuff done. Then packing and will be off to Las Vegas to watch a friend hopefully beat the crap out of the other guy. Then I'll be doing some gambling and I guess a friend has us setup for some club on Saturday night. Should be interesting.

Well I thought i was having a bad day (got a sprint bill for 359.00 -- but got them to knock it down to 248.00) until I opened this. Sorry to hear about your dad, FanTC. If i wasn't working so much, I'd drive out and help. I used to pick cotton when I lived in 'Bama during the fall. I hope it all works out and your dad has a quick and easy adjustment. What a shocker.

Nice day here relaxing after a full day at tourist trap Niagara Falls.. we had awesome weather and a great day but our legs hurt from all the walking.

I was up and out the door at 5am to ride in my brother's hot air balloon this morning. A real big balloon festival going on in these parts. It was a great flight - fog hanging low, sun rising, hardly any wind and it took an hour and a half to go about a mile! I'm leaving Sunday for DFW for my 3 weeks of training on the new jet.

FanTC...I don't know 'ya, man - but good luck with your Pa and all. Peace.

Now to go mow the lawn one last time before I leave or my wife will kill me dead.

As for today, emmy thinks were relaxing but i think we have work to do before we get to that.
