Some small delays at CuntMaster's

For some damn reason none of my browsers work on my main pc nor does my ftp but I can send packets through dos |huh
So I went out and bought a laptop finally and while everything works on it, I have to install a shitload of software again and it's 100 freaking degrees in the office and I'm going for a well deserved beer before tackling this mess tomorrow. Who'da thunk you'd need AC in Canada at this time of the year?
So my apologies for the delays I hope to have everyone up by Thursday at the latest. Trades will have to wait a bit until I get everything else running smooth.

Sorry to hear!

Have you tried loading a page in IE or Firefox via an IP? Try going to http://74.125.19.103... should load google. Have you reinstalled IE and firefox?

I know windows xp doesn't essentially have a TCP/IP stack as was in Win98 but there is a way you can essentially reinstall it.

What does DNS have to do with not being able to ftp though? Browsing I could understand, but not being able to login to ftp... |crazy|

If you have XP on that machine SG, just do a roll back. XP automatically creates restore points for you so you can go back to a time when the pc worked the way it was supposed to.

Hope you get everything sorted out quickly. You should have a few submissions from me waiting in your inbox ;)

Never said DNS has anything to do with ftp but if he can send out packets from the command line and his browsers can't display a page, then he should see if its possibly a stack issue. That can probably be resolved pretty easily if I remember correctly.

No worries, I think :)
I've pretty much got this laptop thing up to speed, it's a pita but even if I can't get my main puter together by tomorrow I'll be up to date by tomorrow night.
For some reason XP isn't giving me the option to restore so I'll get my cd back from my sister, reinstall and give that a shot.
LOL Fonz, slacker |angry|:D
Since I've started my comeback a year and a half ago I don't think I've taken a day off ;) I think its the fear of getting a real job :D

I hear ya... But, if he can surf by IP and not the actual domain name, then it's a DNS issue. That's all I was saying...

SheepGuy, here are some instructions on doing a system restore in XP if you choose to try it.

Tried that bud, only lets me restore to the day my problem started :(
I was supposed to have my install CD today but that didn't happen, meanwhile I'm getting to like this laptop and the LL is updated and back to normal. Got some major revamping and a new project I want to start this weekend though that I'll need the PC for. I'm hoping a reinstall will do the trick, don't see why it wouldn't. If not I may have to wipe my hd but I'd rather not think about that.

Hey Sheepguy
my puter did the same thing yours is doing couldn't FTP, system restore points vanished and so did the drivers to my CD's and printer.
I never did fix it |crazy|

Shit - you just got that PC right after I visited - that didn't take long to fry.

Well at least the laptop monitor shouldn't have such a green(ie) tint - pun intended.
