Do you submit to your own LL?

I want to make my xlef.com site into a LL of sorts, or a directory, if you like. It will list all sorts of sites, freesites, galleries even, regular sites. I would only take submissions by email/PM from members here, basically.

Question is, would it be ok to submit my own sites to my own LL, as in having a recip back to it in the recip table. Or is that risking making it into an outbound link in the count?

I always use 2 mirrors when submitting freesites and on both of them I have a recip to a LL of mine, a different one on each mirror. And I actually submit those mirrors to the linklists that have that linklist's recip on them.

I make a mirror of each new site and leave off the recip table so it's "clean" and list it at my link list. All the other mirrors have a recip table with my recip in the recip table.

I submit all my freesites to my own sites, why wouldn't you? If you use custom recips and put about 20 LL's on there, your one LL's recip isn't going to hurt anything. Also, I don't do mirrors. ;)

if it is in the recip table it is a recip, not an outbound in my oppinion, and yes, I submit to my own LL's

ladydesigner 2007-09-26 08:58 AM

I include both my link list recips in my recip tables and yes, I do submit them to myself.

Why would you submit the site when you can just add it by hand? :D

Well, duh! Why didn't I think of that? LOL

I like to submit my free sites through my submit pages so they sit in the queue like all the rest. Keeps me from forgetting to list them (which I've done before). |loony|

IMO it's an outbound link if the LL itself is not linking to that mirror page.
But who am I?

JustRobert 2007-09-26 10:41 AM

Yes, I submit to myself. Sits in the queue like the others waiting approval.

I agree Fonz. If my recip is in the table then it is listed at my site. Just do not feel right doing it any other way IMO.

Maya 2007-09-26 12:27 PM

I agree with Fonz and JustRobert.

I submit to my own LL as well, but I only have my own recip in one mirror/reciptable, and that's the one I submit there.

stfuvt 2007-09-26 01:33 PM

I do submit to my own LL and I think some LL reviewers count it as outbound link.

Ofcourse, my LL's always link the same mirror as the one I have their recips on

tigermom 2007-09-26 02:30 PM

Yeah, I think I'll go that route too. I'll submit to my own list and I will list the full version of that site (not a clean site). That's the only fair thing towards the other LL's IMHO, to keep on circulating the traffic.

Some do - so I never put more than two links to my sponsor (usually my pay site) on the index page. That way, if the link to my LL is counted, I still have three or less.
