Oprah: Porn/Adultry GOOD

The show that aired Tuesday, September 25, 2007 was entitled: “237 Reasons to Have Sex” and featured numerous “experts” on intimacy and marriage.

The article was a good read, cool to see her show tackled different topics in discussion with the audience.

The response from this person advocated to her, experiencing one night stands, “friends with benefits” We adore each other, we respect each other, we have great sex, and that's it. It stays in that little category and it doesn't get out of it."

At the end of the article they give it to her in the leave a comment. It ruffled a few feathers.

Interesting read. I used to hate the way Oprah treated porn in the past. Like it says there -

Quote:

Oprah has aired numerous shows delving into the topic of pornography addiction. These included the sad tale of woman who killed her husband in self defense after he went on a porn-induced rage and a former gospel singer whose life was shattered by the addiction.
I really thought that was low, making porn look that bad when so many people are enjoying it daily. So, this new outlook on porn is refreshing -

Quote:

Next, Oprah talks to Janee who owns a small collection of pornography, or, eh, “erotica” – as she prefers to call it. "I think with respect to my mother's generation, her mother's generation, you know, exploring the adult entertainment industry was just unheard of. It probably wasn't even an option for them,"

Another expert, Dr. Saltz, chimes in advocating pornography to women for overcoming their concerns about the addiction that their spouses indulge. To her credit, Dr. Saltz notes: “The problem is, it can be a double-edged sword in that anything really pleasurable can become kind of addictive.”
Obviously the RedState reporter didn't like this lol. They end the article saying: "Why Oprah, whose influence is unmistakable, would backtrack to advocate pornography and adultery is beyond us."

I really think that internet is changing things. Porn is fast becoming more legitimate and it's nice to see Oprah's show finally reflecting that.

I watched the show and it was really good. I think people are getting alot more open as time passes. The problem is not with porn its the negative spin thats put on it which causes all the weak minded followers to comform to someones uptight opinion of something they know nothing about.

As for Oprah talking negative about porn I think her view on things may be affected because she was raped as a young girl which may have made her more reserved in her sexuality.

Interesting fact on the show tho. 1 out of every 4 dollars that is spent on "erotica aka porn" as they called it on the show is from a woman.

One of the best things about moving to the UK is barely ever having to hear about what Oprah thinks.

That does it, I'm moving to the UK!
