Your Home Office/Workspace

I really like seeing other peoples work stations, offices, or generally where people work.

Here's mine

1. Dual 22" LCDs. My main PC where I do 98% of my work.
PC, under the desk, running Linux. Computer is an AMD 2600+.
2. Laptop dual booting Windows and linux. Mainly for quick Windows XP.
3. 1 terabyte networked file server where EVERYTHING is stored
4. Second monitor for laptop
5. Diet Coke

Way too tidy. ;)

Nice setup, wish I had room for a corner desk like that. Dual monitors are great, went to that myself with my new PC back in July.

I also went with dual monitors earlier this year. I have to say that's the way to go. I get a lot more work done. :)

Here is my office. People have closets bigger than my office!

As for PCs, I have two. My recently purchased System76 laptop which runs Ubuntu Linux exclusively (with Crossover for Windows Support) while my desktop runs M$ XP (for games, multimedia and to watch TV while I work). Oh yeah, mouse on the left -- I'm left handed!

One thing I like is my Samsung multifunction laser [to your right and just out of the picture] which lets all the [5] PCs in my house print, fax, etc. It was great to get that finally networked.

Finally, the light switch cover is authentic Gumby. "He was once a little green slab of clay ...."

Nothing really exciting here.

Your diet coke made me laugh... is that lamp enough? I was told that the healthiest solution is when you get the light from the left.

Try this - sit at your computer as if you are about to type & take a picture. Use that picture as your desktop background.

FREAKY!

It's still bigger than mine :)

I'm too ashamed of my desk to show it so use your imagination.

sue-fl 2007-11-08 12:08 PM

|cry| I used to have a very nice office but it has a daughter in it now. I'll have to get someone to take a picture of my now office. It's me on the loveseat reclined with a laptop on my lap when my grandson is not around. When he is my office is my bed with my laptop on my lap.

I really feel left out today after seeing the big offices and all the pc's |cry|

I noticed that a shirt is on the back of the chair. Does that mean that you're topless while taking these pics? :)

I been in cleos office, and yes she has some strange rule that you must be topless to enter.

She also has a strange rule of dumping cups of coffee all over keyboards, but since I was a guest I did as I was told.|coffee|cleo|

I have no pics right now and due to the last 2 months BS I have not set my office as I want it, but I will be working on that in a few days when I get back and if this thread is still alive I will post the pics then.

Jim 2007-11-08 12:44 PM

Mine is a little too messy at the moment :) But, an office isn't an office without a couch for the midday nap.

Mr Exotic 2007-11-08 12:49 PM

Right now my office is a little fucking card table cramped into my brother's bedroom at his trailor. Almost have my house ready to sale, so hopefully I'll get that taken care of very soon and I can go on and live a somewhat normal life again. Divorce is a bitch. My exwife still has this crazy idea in her head that even though I have to sale my house because of her that I'm still going to want to be with her again someday (after her lease is up in a year at her apartment). Ahh hell, I dont want to go too far off topic with the exwife bullshit, haha. I sure miss my old office, I even had a pool table in there, haha :)

Here's mine. High Tech Stuff.

I agree, dual monitors is the only way to go. Would be tough to work without them now.

Here's another vote for dual monitors. On my next PC I think I'll go for 3 monitors. I could never go back to just one. If only more monitors automatically meant more work got done...lol

Off to the left outside the pic is my mid-day napping couch.

nice choice in speakers ronnie. ;)

stuveltje 2007-11-08 04:22 PM

not interesting to post a pic of my working space, i have my puter in a special closet in the corner at the end of the living room...that way i can view all what is happening in the livingroom and around that one and most important i can watch the telly:D, i had a working space before at the attic ( i have 2 big rooms there), not handy with small kids, so i deside to move my butt downstairs some years ago, i can hide my stuff so no one even notice i have an puter downstairs and when i am working i can keep my evil eye on my "oh so evil kids"!
And an other reason why i wouldnt show a pic.....yes i have still the old big monitor for my puter, while everybody else in this house have a big widescreen flat thing for their puter:D ...i know, i know...but heay it works for me so why spent money on something else if my old stuff still works?:D

I'm guessing a Stratocaster to go with the Marshall amp?

PS. Nice digs
