Anybody hosting stuff with servage?
 

Hello everybody,

signed up with servage.net last week. Their offer was really beckoning:

- 360GB Space
- 3600 GB Traffic/month (!!!)
- 1000 sql-databases,
- etc etc etc

for only 6.35 Euro/Month (see servage.net)

Now that everything was set up for me, I noticed the ip-location for the server is Germany.
Being German I'm quite concerned about this fact. Servage terms allow adult hosting,
but German law does not, at least not without AVS.

Anybody else hosting adultstuff with servage?

Do a search on the board and you will find:

1) Happy people.
2) Angry people who say they get cut off whenever they get a big listing (like a gallery on theHun).

"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". As for the legal stuff ... I am not a lawyer, I just play one on the Interweb. :D

Just wanted to know if anybody here (especially German fellows, if there are any around)
would dare working with a server located in Germany.

Besides, the servage-offer is really great for non-adult. I mean a monthly transfer of
3600GB is quite nice, isn't it?

you'll never be able to use it all (or even half of it).

I've got an account with them and I only use it for a couple of very small sites that get almost no traffic.

If you want a real host, check out phatservers, atci, dwhs, natnet, isprime, oc3,...

Hey German!

I have been hosting with servage when I started in this biz. Service was good, speed, options and everything was fine until they send me the first warning mail. I don't remember exactly what they wrote. Fact is the bandwith they offer will never be used by anyone (IMO) 'cause they measure the hits on your account. 400.000 hits and they shut down your account until the next morning.

After that I have been hosting with webair.com and never had any problems with them.

Now I have a dedicated server... but that's another story.

If interested ICQ me um sich mal in deutsch zu unterhalten...
