Joyporn.net already dead?

Damn... Joyporn is already dead? The owner was pretty active here, surprised he just went out like that... |crazy|

Funny you should post this, that's exactly why I came to the forum, to post the same thing.

His freesites are dead as well, that's 189 links that just got pulled. :(

Japamor, what's the deal? I hope everything's Ok!

ronnie 2007-12-13 12:49 PM

This is very surprising.

Useless 2007-12-13 01:15 PM

Don't panic yet. He is probably changing hosts in a less than smooth manner. http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...ad.php?t=44294

That's very helpful and has set me straight on a number of points.

I'm obviously not being unrealistic in expecting a hosting company to set up cronjobs. It looks as though a change of hosting is the only sensible answer.

Cheers :)

EDIT: His nameservers are currently atcihosting.com and I'm almost positive he had a different host in that cronjob thread. I'm now almost positive that he's simply switching hosts. Almost.

bDok 2007-12-13 03:35 PM

bad move there. that's a lot of work which is about to crash n burn if he really doesn't know about it. If he does strange that he didn't sell of the sites. oh well.

As I already stated:

Useless - is there any truth to the rumor that he's selling all of his sites?

japamor 2007-12-13 05:18 PM

Sorry about the confusion. UW is right, I'm changing hosts in a less than smooth manner. Hopefully won't take much longer. I'll post again when its all done.

Truthfully, I heard that he may have been kidnapped by the Taliban and waterboarded until he regretfully gave up his server's root password. A group of homeless Mexican kids broke into Taliban headquarters and stole the password, which was written down on a package of Stouffer's frozen falafels. The discarded package was found by a clan of Eskimos who went into Carmel, California's Clint Eastwood Public Library and used a public computer to scuttle Japamor's server after discovering his root IP written on a bathroom wall in Barstow.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, the Taliban had created a back-up of his sites and are attempting to trade said back-up files on the black market for a new box of frozen falafels.

So you really were kidnapped, waterboarded, and hacked? I knew it!

Would have been funnier if I typed faster and posted my story before he posted.

All the above sounds pretty good to me except perhaps that first word - 'truthfully'........

UW I wish I had one tenth of your imagination! :D

T Pat 2007-12-13 06:17 PM

That's probable the first time in written history that the towns of Carmel and Barstow were used in the same paragraph. |thumb

You can buy frozen falafels |huh
Are they any good ?
If so, I need to get out to the grocery store more often. I could live on falafels!

OK, I'll bite, WTF is a falafel?

OK, got it: fried ball or patty made from spiced fava beans and/or chickpeas.

Damn, never heard of that.

JustRobert 2007-12-13 07:38 PM

My wife has not made falafels in a very long time. Better put in my order today or I will forget :D

"Fried ball or patty made from spiced fava beans and/or chickpeas. Falafel is usually served as a sandwich wrapped in pita bread, and outside the Middle East, the term "falafel" commonly refers to this sandwich..."

Taken from wikipedia because I do not cook and was not sure. I just like to eat them :D

Looks like ya found it already!

LOL I edited my post after checking Wikipedia.

Hell, I can make this: Falafel

JustRobert 2007-12-13 07:57 PM

I prefer them in sandwich form. Open pita bread stuffed with falafel, hummus, cucumber, avocado and tahini sauce.

Had them more when I was a vegetarian. Crap I think the last time the wife made them was because VirgoHippy was over. He gets long winded when its close to dinner time |couch|

ponygirl 2007-12-13 08:01 PM

geez, you guys always make me so HUNGRY!! :D

glad to see it's all worked out by the way, Japamor - everything looks up and running to me :)

Your sites are back up for me as well and all are re-listed. |thumb

japamor 2007-12-14 02:50 AM

Both joyporn and japamor.com sites are back up and running now but there's still a problem with the script for submissions to joyporn. I'll post as soon as its fixed.

SheepGuy 2007-12-14 03:37 AM

Damn, I work for a couple of hours, watch some TV, smoke a doob, and now I'm getting falafel recipes |jester|
Damn I'm hungry!
But are the frozen ones any good ?
I know the sandwich type is best ;)

Glad to hear all is well Japamor :)

LeRoy 2007-12-14 04:23 AM

Come and visit me! Not only is it warm and sunny but one of the top ten Felafel joints in the known universe (and a contender for the title of the best Felafel) is within a 15 minutes walk from my house |bananna|

In case you didn't know, Felafel is the official national food of Israel!
