Content quality for FS

Hi guys

I am wondering which way is right. (mostly about video content quality)
In many articles they say that for freesite is better to down content quality and this would encourage surfer to go for signup for better quality content.
But some surfer could be not even excited by bad rez clips and go away.

Sure I do write on description about “all of it is preview” and “go there for HQ ” and blabla

What do you think?

I think if you use poor quality clips on your freesites, the surfer may think that's what they'll get on the paysite. Plus, many link lists won't list your sites if the videos are crappy.

Go for good quality clips, edit them so that they "tease" the surfer into wanting to see more, use juicy text to push them along, and you should make sales.

Yeah, that's right, it is what I am working on,

if surfer sees a HQ clip and gets HORNY, aah, there are two ways - to bathroom or to join page
who knows

I sometimes reduce file size, in movies and especially in pics (some of the pictures provided by sponsors are huge). When I do, I try to mention in my sales text that the free samples are reduced in size and that the content on the paysite itself is of higher quality.

Changang,
I see that your new, at least to this board, so here are some more important tips then video quality you will need to know.
1) you need to have your own hosting. Not sponsors "free host" for this is not allowed at many LL's. Make sure your whois info is also viewable as well for a lot of places want to see it.
2) total video length per page needs to be at least 60 seconds at most places I have found, including my own.

Hope this helps ya.
Feel free to resubmit when these issues have been fixed.

Yeah, I've been trying to put some similar wordage in mine as well. it's been a while since I porn surfed, but nothing made me leave a site quicker than shitty movies and pics. I have to say, and lot of the sponsor free content leaves a lot to be desired, and I feel I need to point out that if the surfer signs up, they get the good stuff...

With HD everywhere these days, crappy content looks even crappier...I do think the standard is higher.

As for hosting, what do you think about bandwidth? How much is optimal for FSs at start?

JustRobert 2007-12-18 11:25 AM

Changang
I am not sure, but from what I understand it is very minimal nowadays. I have been on a dedicated server for years so I do not worry about that. I believe you could get a virtual account for $10 a month, possibly cheaper, that should cover it. You will burn more with vids so you may want to start with pics to get your feet wet and sales technique down.

Hopefully one of the other newbies that have started can fill you in more about pricing and where to go.

I'd say 20 second clips around 2mb are usually decent quality.
