POV - Gonzo Same Thing?
 

Is POV and Gonzo the same thing, or very similar? I did some searches and I am still a bit confused. |huh Anyone has a good explanation?

I don't think so.

POV is point of view so you never see the guy really just "his view". Gonzo I think is more like amateur style filming and/or where the guy holding the camera and his friends in some instances are all involved in the film making. It's a free for all. POV is simply point of view.

What Ramster said. I would add that in the 1990s once pornographers stopped getting arrested for lack of "social content" in their movies there was a trend towards a Cinéma-vérité style of porn. By that I mean the acting, themes and filming became more natural and spontaneous. It was this type that porn that became known as gonzo. John Stagliano and John Leslie were pioneers. Of course it has now devolved into a "hello let's fuck" style of porn.

Which is so fucking boring and repetitive... :(
