If I Get Rejected Can I .........

Remove the recip and replace with someone who will list me. I noticed while doing my Chelsie Rae search that some of the LL recips on that site have rejected me. I don't think they deserve that spot after they rejected my site.

I have a bunch of recips from LL that didnt list me or give me a rejection email. When Greenie rejects me I fix the problem and resubmit because he gives me a reason so I know what to fix. most LL's leave me in the dark. So after 1 month of no reply is it safe to remove the recip and submit it to a smaller more acceptable list?

I would, and I do it. I don't make mirrors so it's easy to check. But, make sure you go to the site and search the source page for your url plus the archive if they have one.

Some link lists do take more than a month to get to your site though...
Are they really worth submitting to anyway?

SheepGuy 2008-01-08 12:29 AM

I do it as well, and if a site takes more than a month to list or reject me, I scratch them off of my list.

I think a month is a helluva long time to get to reviewing, I think you should be OK D.

Same here! Just be sure, like mentioned above, that you make sure your site isn't listed somewhere on the link list.

Isn't it a lot of effort to check who lists you for a particular site, especially if you submit to a lot of LLs.

LeRoy 2008-01-08 08:56 AM

Ok sounds good. I do keep very good tabs on my traffic stats. I even know when the site gets reviewed by some LL's that have not listed me. It shows up in AW stats. So I have a pretty good idea who to remove. I'll give it one more month though :) It would suck to get rejected for no recip found after I removed it 1 month later.. people have lives or jobs or even programs ;) to run so I understand

I find it damn near impossible, especially now that I am doing mirrors. My organization skills pretty much suck, too, but would be good to keep tabs...I'm just not sure the best way to do for those that never send confirmations or rejects. If I went and checked each site, I would spend more time checking than I do building and submitting, which seems counter productive.

If you know that a link list has rejected your site, it's fine to swap the recip. Trust me, if I reject your link, I couldn't possibly care less what you do with it. But I'd caution you to be very careful about what you think you know and what you really know when checking your stats. What you may think is a hit from a reviewer looking at your site and quietly rejecting it could be a list's script botting their queue. Also, don't always expect to find your link listed in category X because that's where you submitted it. The reviewer may have moved it to another category. I do that all the time. Hell, I've found my own free sites on a page on a BIG link list that I'm almost positive was impossible to reach via the list's navigation. If it wasn't for seeing the URL in my stats, I would have guessed that it was rejected. (I never submitted there again.)

The date on the next link to be reviewed in the general queue at Perve is 2007-12-06 22:11:09. (Just over a month old) If I review it in a few minutes and find the recip missing, that'll be the last time that person ever submits to me. |thumb I'm not saying that it's right to let my queue fall that far behind. I'm saying that's how it is. That Greenie person having links reviewed and listed within 24 hours is setting a bad example. :) If you submit to smaller lists, you have to realize that we don't have 2 or 3 reviewers on the payroll.

Thanks UW . I may have jumped the gun here a bit. There are some that I know rejected me for sure from the rejection email. I'll wait longer on the others. Yesterday I got a rejection from one of those first ones I made in last summer lol

tigermom 2008-01-09 05:58 AM

I think one of the worst things for one's reputation is taking down your partner's link in a link exchange. I consider the recips to be an advanced form of link exchanges and treat them the same way. Like UW said, only switch to a different recip when you are 100% sure that your site was rejected.

I used to think that a rejection email is the only way to make sure. Now that I keep getting rejection emails for sites that have in fact been accepted and listed by penisbot, I don't even see that as a good enough confirmation... Bottom line is, I just almost never deal with replacing recips. I check my stats every few weeks and if a LL sends me zero or very very little traffic, I just stop submitting to them and my new FS go elsewhere. Old links stay in place though.

I do this too but every few months not weeks.

I would think that an email that says "your site has been rejected" gives you the OK to remove their link, even in Penisnbot's case (I had the same issue). I am glad I did not remove their recip, but had I done so, would I really be in the wrong given that I had written documentation that they were not listing my site?

You'd think it would. Just as I was picking on Preacher for receiving yet another Penisbot rejection last night, I got one for a site submitted weeks ago. The other few sites that I submitted during that same period have already been listed. The site they rejected has always had their new recip, so I haven't a clue as to what is going on over there. (I bet MML is giggling as he reads this. |boobies|)

I think everyone agrees it's a script error by now. Old FS that have been listed and still are listed are also getting this rejection email. Don't take to heart...

Now I feel like an ass. (Yes, I know - I should always feel like an ass.) I checked my stats and I have been getting traffic to that site from PB, so you are most definitely correct. Phew. I only do a few free sites sporadically over a year and it breaks my heart to get rejected. It's really rough on the ego to get your own stuff rejected when you've been reviewing for a few years.
