Google PR0 and 250,986 on Alexa - Can Someone Explain This?
My site, in operation since August, has Google PR0 yet ranks 250,986 on Alexa. Can someone explain this to me? I have trades on the site both A-B and A-B-C. Given that I am doing reasonably well, I would have thought that my PR would have been a bit higher by now. I know that PR isn't everything but I wish I knew why this is so. Any thoughts you might have would be appreciated. Thanks.

alexa and pr don't have anything to do with each other.
and toolbar pr is kind of deflated right now. you'll probably get some toolbar pr next big update. |
My PR0 site received over 150k visitors from google last month. My PR4 site got about 150. Uninstalled that toolbar about 6 months ago, it's a useless waste of time to look at.

Your search engine traffic is going to depend on the keywords google gave you that PageRank for. Like previous poster stated, a PR0 can trump a PR4.
|
A pr4 can also jump to a pr0.
|
Don't worry about it as long as you got URL listed, you're getting traffic, and you haven't lost any rankings.
|
PR comes only from link trades so basically it has nothing to do with your traffic, anyways there is no reason to worry about PR if you are satisfied with traffic and revenue you get ;)

There was once the time when PR was useful.. Nowadays its simply useless.
I know, it was easier when you just checked the Pagerank to know how good the pages rank in Google. Just do some research to get the same results now.. |
Alexa rankings and Google PR work independently.....it might take a while to update and get a higher PR but like Steve said ... a pr4 can jump to 0
