New TGP, looking for feedback

Me and my friends are developing a TGP for the first time:

http://www.happypornproductions.com

It is a work in progress. As such a lot of the links on the side do not function yet, we have no link list or traffic trade partners, and we only have one sponsor just to get started (planning on adding more).

Currently though, we are more worried about traffic. We currently have none. We were looking for advice on how to get some traffic going. We know we won't see good traffic for a while but we're looking to at least just see a trickle.

In order to achieve this we're starting to build and submit galleries to other TGPs that will link back to our site. Are we headed in the right direction?

Any feedback would be appreciated

That would be a good start. You could use that traffic to start with small trades and work up. You could also buy traffic and set up trades to jump start things. You could hang out on boards like this, get yourself know and have a better chance of getting trades even with lower traffic.

I don't own a TGP so take everything I say with " a grain of salt" as the old saying goes. A TGP is the hardest type of site for a newbie because it takes huge volumes of traffic to make profitable. Acquiring and keeping traffic is a science (art?) and it takes a long time to learn.

Understand that since you're running a TGP with no text that you'll get very little SE (Seach Engine) traffic. The main source of your traffic with be trades or purchased. Assuming this is not a fake TGP, when you accept submissions you'll get traffic from the links to your site from the galleries submitted from webmasters.

If you've not already done so, you'll need to install a traffic trading program like Arrow or Turbo Traffic Trader. A search on this board can give you many more possibilities. You set up the traffic program to skim off a certain percentage of surfer clicks and send them to another TGP. Those TGPs that you send people to, in turn, do the same for you. Set the skim too high and you'll be accused of been a CJ (Circle Jerk). Set the skim too and surfers will use up your bandwidth as they view all your free porn.

As Ronnie mentioned, you can start off trading small volumes of traffic and get bigger step by step. The alternative is to set-up big trades and "prime the pump" by purchasing traffic. The purchased traffic comes in, clicks on a thumb, and the skimmed traffic goes to your trading partners who in turn send new surfers back to you.

This is where productivity comes in and I don't really understand it very well. You want to be in a situation where your trades are so productive that you get back more than you give, otherwise, you'll be purchasing traffic for the entire life of the TGP.

I like the drop down hello panel but it would be nice if that could be configured to happen only once or only once a visit. I find it annoying.

That's all I know (and it could be full of factual errors)!

Is it going to be open for submissions or are you just filling it with your own galleries? I didnt see anywhere to submit..or are you trying to gain traffic first?

Thanks for all the advice. I think we went into this trying to just design a site first and then trying to figure on how to route traffic to it, when maybe we should have started with just building and submitting galleries in an effort to build some traffic first.

That being said, now that we have the site, we're willing to put in time to acquire traffic knowing that it will probably be an uphill battle with no returns for a while.

We do need a link for gallery submissions, I think we were going to try to build some traffic first, but having the ability to accept submitted galleries will probably help us do that.

At this time we're basically working on building/submitting galleries. Also we will look into traffic trading programs, and possibly buying traffic.

Thanks again for the help and I'll make sure to keep people up to date on the progress!

As artwilliams wrote the work you expect is hard. Good luck.

Good point Art. I've been slowly feeding My site with paid traffic, and have been setting up trades with bigger sites as I move along. Suspend trades that are not productive, and seek better trades |thumb

Don't know where you're getting your traffic from but TRAFFIC HOLDER is a favorite of mine for loading/pumping newer TGPs. Check them out if you want.
That's my affiliate link, so you'd be helping me out indirectly :)

I just made a post to a similar problem and the bottom line is that content is king. You have crap content, no one will come or bookmark. Post up the hottest shit the surfer has ever seen - and he's yours :) and you keep him coming back with more quality content.

Good luck

Looking for some new/additional feedback. I've been working on the site pretty steadily since the original post and am looking for some more feedback.

I'm also looking at buying traffic from traffic holder to spur revenue. Being a pretty new site, and having relatively low traffic right now, what else can I do besides buy traffic directly? I'm not sure where to get my site linked given that I don't have that much traffic to trade out...

PS: almost forgot the link:

Site looks ok, but you should realy change that header. It looks too much 90's.
