Submitting Etiquette

Hey is there some kind of submitting etiquette where you email the linklist owner and get a confirmation that they're accepting submissions or something or to see if you need a partner account? I ask because I've submitted some of my free sites to a few sites and I have yet to hear from them or receive any traffic from them...I know there's tons of linklists in the sea, but some of the sites I'm talking about are talked about regularly on this board as great sources of traffic so I'd like to get listed with them...any thoughts?

A few of the link list around here are backlogged up to 3 months. I have about 5 linklist that i submit to that take a month minimum to get accecpted. Try to find out who owns The link list you want to contact and see if you can drop them a pm in this board or on another. Pms always seem to get anwsered faster than emails. I keep my messages short friendly and to the point. And i always have some freesite samples ready just in case i need a partner account.

3 months seems like an aweful long time to be back logged. I think a month is or should be considered when submitting. Ive seen it take between 2 and 3 weeks. I think if a PA was needed it would be clearly stated on their submit page or if they werent accepting submits that would be clear as well.

I have two link list i submit to that take well over a month to accept some sites, but they usally approve 4 or 5 of my sites at the same time. And the two sites that do this are very popular here. I stopped submitting to these for almost three months untill i saw that they approved my sites. I think anything over a month you should probally go ahead and contact them.

With me if it's not listed in 3 days and you haven't got a rejection email let me know. Sometimes I miss a site :(

Is that the case? If so, should I drop you a PM, SheepGuy, I sent you an email several days ago.

I've PMed a couple of list owners here, too. No response to date. My thoughts are they are all busy. I know a lot of them were at a show until a few days ago and there must be a big backlog.

The option to receive emails when you get a private message sometimes doesn't work it seems, and some people do not regularly check their PM box.

Thanks, LD, and thanks for listing my sites.

But I emailed SheepGuy from my own email client to the address he gave on his site, using the subject line he asked for.

I haven't emailed the peeps I've PMed. Are you saying I should revisit their sites and email them too?

If you're not sure whether a LL needs a partner account, by all means email them or PM the owner to ask. Keep it polite and friendly and in my experience, you'll get polite and friendly replies.
