Freesite 404s?
hey everyone-
im setting up some freesites, and I was wondering about whats allowed with 404s. I will be setting it up so that the thumbnails go to the picture file themselves, and not a html page that displays the full size pic as it standard. However, I was wondering if I put an offshoreclicks popup on the 404s and Access denied errors (as I will be setting it up with htaccess that you have to click the link to the pic and you cant type it in) was allowed? Will putting a popup on the error pages stop me from getting listed? thanks! |
You can pretty much do what you want with your 404 traffic, but keep in mind that since we all make mistakes from time to time it may be a reviewer that gets hit with your 404 page and if you send them to popup hell and crash their admin they aren't going to show you much love on future reviews.

Yeah what Cleo said :)

Double what Cleo said...
.. and if you get blacklisted for a 404 and you also redirect to a sponsor, you have little chance of getting removed.:( DD |
I believe what you're doing is setting up a page for "403 Forbidden" errors - 404's are "Page Not Found" errors.
What you do on your 403 & 404 pages is your business :) |
