Imagine this !

All the owners of the leading free online porn sites get together to form the "Free Porn Coalition".

Together they decide to reduce the quality and availability of free porn on the internet.

The first step is to create a common standard for free porn sites.
This standard sets various maximums for the quality of media and the way it should be presented.

To enforce the new standard they require all sites receiving traffic or links from "coalition" sites to be members and to abide by the standards.

The ostracising of non-compliant sites sees them vanish from search engine ranks.

Free porn surfers now only have access to basic low quality porn previews that are lower quality than the banners advertising free sites.

Surfers are never satisfied with what they receive and become frustrated with the lack of content amongst the advertising etc.

Every frustrated surfer resorts to the credit card to gain access to what they really want.

Paysite sales increase by 1000% (10x) and business booms!

Free site owners now get back to what they should be, that is advertisers and marketers, not web designers and content providers.

Another side benefit is that the anti-porn movement sees internet porn as self regulating and no longer requiring new laws.

MattatKaras - your dream/concept is about 12 years too late.

I don't think it's about the quality of the free content. I think it's all about the quantity, and by quantity I mean the length of the videos and the content of the pictures.

When I started in this business, it was all about providing "teaser" content, and the surfer would have to whip out the credit card to see the full length stuff (free videos were few and far between in those days). That model will still work. The problem IMO is the amount of full length videos that the surfer can get for free these days.

The problem: Tube sites that allow any Tom, Dick and Mary to upload full length videos, and the sponsors that don't seem to care. If you want to form a coalition, how about "If we see your full length content being given away for free, we, the coalition, will no longer promote your program". They're allowing tube sites to give away the stuff we're trying to sell.

While I admire your enthusiasm I have to question your sanity. ;)

I think all the top free sites should do exactly that so that I can easily create a free site of better quality and get all the traffic that they lose :)

I did say it was a dream and in reality I think the guys who are doing well wouldn't risk it but hey I think we all realise that it should happen to a degree.

I also don't think there is enough cooperation and trust between webmasters out there to ever make something like this happen.

It would however be much better if they did it themselves before it was forced on them by some high powered "God Botherers" or the like.

I think it happens amongst WM's..to an extent..there are always smal groups of WM's who trade between themselves, keep the same type of rules, etc. SO it does hapen just in much smaller #'s
