I know some folks are getting snow (even a lot of it) today. But here the a/c is already on for a humid 76 degree morning heading for 85 which will feel like 97 they say. Then down to 54 tomorrow night.

Nothing but reading, learning and working on the schedule for today.

P.S. Still looking for what language is on this warning sign. Fonz is close I think, with his suggestion of South African Dutch (or maybe he's spot on), but if you recognize it let me know. I've tried Google and various translator sites with no joy.

Yeah, I really think you're right (and unless we have someone here from South Africa you probably know better than most).

Do the words translate to what it says below them in English? When I put the English phrase into a translator I get back "de overtreders zullen worden gegeten" for the Dutch version.

And there's no 'Afrikaner' translator I know about. :)

My sister just called me saying her computer was broken. She could surf all sites except she couldn't get on MSN Messenger. I just hung up the phone.

That's an almost correct translation. South African Dutch or "Afrikaans" is different to regular Dutch in many ways. The text on the sign looks Afrikaans to me :)

No snow here but I do have a cold.

No real plans for today other then cold meds, errands, and getting a bit of work done.

I had a specific project for yesterday that didn't happen.. i need to buy a printer and the one I want.. the Kodak Easyshare 5300 (yes the one from Celebrity Apprentice) I have found it on line and the base price is 149.00 but finally found it yesterday at Office Depot for 199.00. so I'm going to order it from online with free shipping. I guess I've gone this long without one, another week won't hurt me.

Another day, another school shooting in Vegas. This is #4 in the last 2 weeks. Luckily only 1 of the shootings resulted in the shootee dying. Turns out he was flashing gang signs but the parents are oblivious and talk how their son is so angelic. Yesterday it was a Jr. High school kid was caught in some cross fire while walking home from school. Everyday I am thankful my son goes to school online. He might not be as social as others but that's why crew from GG&J comes to Vegas 2 times per year so he can learn to participate!! |thumb

Anyway bunches of errands today and then i'm off to a the Bar/Restaurant trade show.. Free Booze |loony| and food and home on a bus!! woot. |bananna|

Simon: It probably is Afrikaans but I sent it to my galpal who lives in Durban. Even though her first language is Zulu (that's the clicks) she is fluent in both Afrikaans and Xhosa. oh and English.

Hot damn, I've found my new farovite meat. In all my 54 years I've never eaten lamb chops. They were on sale for 2.99/lb. so I got two. A little olive oil, salt and pepper and threw one on a hot charcoal grill. WOOOHOOO! That's good eats! Made a honey mustard sauce for it with Dijon mustard, horseradish, honey and finely chopped fresh mint. Awesome! I think I'll have it again tonight!

Good Morning all. MadHatter and I are still fighting round 3 of the chest cold from hell. What is with this thing that you keep getting it over and over? I'm glad it isn't just me, because everyone I've run into at stores is going through the same thing, or knows someone who is. At least last night I slept the best since Saturday when it came back.

I'm a big fogged, but plodding along getting work done. Hopefully, the stuff I submit today makes sense. :D
