AutoGallery Pro to TGPX - Worth it?

I'm currently using AutoGallery Pro, and was wondering if it is worth upgrading to TGPX.

It depends on what your future plans are for the site(s).

I plan on upgrading my existing AGP sites to TGPX, so I can create some custom archive pages using keyword queries. With AGP you can only create category archives.

can't really say about AGP anything since I went straight to TGPX mainly because of what Toby mentioned and they said in their software description: variety of available options for page building (using kw, sponsor name, porn star name, etc.)

can someone give me the templete code for yesterdays gallerys

Vivaldi 2008-03-04 05:34 AM

if it's TGPX Your talking about look at the bolded prt of code ... at least that's how I do it:
{* PULL THE PERMANENT GALLERIES FROM THE DATABASE *}
{galleries
var=$galleries
type=permanent
format=any
getnew=true
allowused=true
description=false
preview=true
amount=25
minage=1
maxage=2

previewsize=120x160
globaldupes=true
category=MIXED
sponsor=any
order=RAND()
reorder=RAND()}

tgpx is the shit...i only say that after trying to figure out comus and then starting with TGPR....TGPX is by far more superior and worth the upgrade

bobsxxxmovies 2008-03-07 11:30 PM

Thanks for the replies. I'm definitely going to consider upgrading...

Actually the correct method for setting up today's/yesterday's/etc in TGPX is to use age=.

age=0 (today's)
age=1 (yesterday's)
age=2 (the day before)

The TGPX support board has a lot of helpful information and Jeremy is usually quick to reply to tech support questions.

It should also be noted that AGP, AGS and TGPR are no longer being updated or maintained.

Regards,
SF

Didn't know that one ... thanks |thumb

I read on the site that the owner is discontinuing the older products later this year. He'll be offering discounts to upgrade.

RedCherry 2008-03-21 08:25 PM

If you are going to run TGPs on more than one domain, TGPX is the greatest. MadHatter checks all 6 of our TGPs from one admin, and only one place to add sponsor hosted galleries to. |thumb I've upgraded all my domains except one, and that was because it was a single niche with sub-niches that I didn't really want to have on the others, so left it Auto Gallery Pro.

Only thing is you will see 6 of the same gallery in a row sometimes, because they submitted to all your tgps, lol. |loony|

I wonder if it would be worth putting some text on the submit pages of those 6 sites, telling the submitters that their galleries will automatically appear on all 6 of your TGPs if they submit it to any one of them.

It could trim some of the reviewing time, and might give added value to submitting a gallery at any of those 6 sites. (Plus, if you keep seeing some people still submitting the same gallery 6 times, you can be pretty sure the submitter's not actually seeing/reading your submit page.)

Or am I missing some good reason not to do that?

TGPX looks great.

I was thinking about having this installed to replace my LL.

Is it easy to use?

secretagentwilly 2008-04-03 07:04 PM

it's very easy to use but for a tgp not as a linklist....

I love TGPX! Maybe I'm just impressed by it because it's the first TGP script I've ever used but,it seems to be one powerful,well thought out piece of software!Any setting,option or crazy set up I've been able to come up with so far could be done.The tech support is great and Jeremy always gets back to me in a short amount of time.Also,the real time thumbnail cropper is pretty cool!|thumb
