Bloggers, Web 2.0-ers and Tagging Fools

Marc from Movie Room didn't publicly announce the addition of the amazing SMART NICHE TECHNOLOGY® to his webmaster tools, so I'm going to. :D

If you are like me, you have tons of dynamic pages and you know that it can be difficult, or even impossible, to apply content-appropriate advertising. Even if your script allows you to add the correct links and/or banners for your pages, it becomes a lot of work to place them on so many damn pages. With Movie Room's new Smart Niche system, you place one small snippet of code on your page/template/script and it instantly figures out which banner is appropriate for that specific page. The resulting banner is served near instantaneously.

Until now, I had no way of placing niche-specific advertising on my tag and content pages, so I had been using Movie Room's hardcore banner as a sort of catch-all. When I changed over the Smart Niche code, click-throughs have almost doubled.

Here are some examples of how the Smart Niche system automatically places a content-appropriate flash banner on my dynamic pages.
Tag Pages:
Creampie Clips
Garter Belt
Teen Pussy
Black Monster Cock
Snowballing

Comment Pages:
Hairy Bush Girls
Firm Fisted Jerkjob
Barely Legal Brunette

It's not always perfect, but more often than not, it delivers the appropriate banner.

For me, this is the coolest and most powerful webmaster tool to come along. It's perfect for bloggers who use tagging or want to deliver the correct kind of advertising on their individual posts' permalink pages.

Check out Movie Room, damn you.

I noticed those the other day. I'm thinking about trying them out on search results pages to see how they work. :)

Definitely give it a whirl. |thumb I was amazed by their Flash banners from the start. Those things are so damned clickable. So this new system absolutely blew me away. It's actually perfect for my site since the traffic is so spread out. No single page has a ton of traffic - it's shared throughout hundreds, even thousands, of pages. (My submitters can attest to that. Traffic trickles from many different pages, dependent on title, keywords, niche, etc.) I hadn't even considered how I was going to advertise on my tag pages when I was creating/hacking the script, and that left me using the same old general banner across a ton of dynamically created pages. If I wasn't an atheist, I'd call that new smart niche banner system a godsend. In fact, when I first tested it, I did have a religious experience.

I'm totally flattered by this post. What a perfect example of how to use this new technology. Thanks so much for your kind words and especially your traffic.

I've kept it kinda quiet for now because I'm fine-tuning the system with the nice batch of traffic it's getting now. I want to make sure 99% of the webmasters out there are 99% happy with the results they receive.

Thanks again for trying it out!

You should be, it's a very clever tool. It shows a forward thinking, outside of the box mentality that can help affiliates if they don't already have a dynamic solution in place for pages generated on the fly.

|thumb

Now if you could generate based on pornstar names for pages like this Pervespace's Hillary Scott that would be really cool.

I think that's a spectacular idea. Alot of work, but a great idea and definately something I will put on the list for enhanced functionality. I have a bunch of ideas in my head already about how I could make that work.

And I've made exactly $0.0491985 from that sale. ;) I'm not fond of revshare trials, but a good number of them do convert to full membership and I've found that .98 is better than .00. They do tend to retain as well.
