TGP software
OK!
I screwed up and went with http://x3scripts.com Big mistake as they have absolutely NO SUPPORT (check their boards) And their script redirects most of their submissions. oh well I knew I needed a script to run a tgp with all the other thing I have going. Of course I made the mistake if trying a free script. They suck with no support and most of what they do doesn't work You get what you pay for. So I will never ever PAY x3scripts a dime as they suck So I realise you have to pay...and I am leaning towards http://www.jmbsoft.com/ Their Pro or SQL looks like what we need any recommendatins? |
Autogallery sql is a really good solid script, I presently use comus thumbs It cost more but comes with an impressive list of features and is updated regularly.

X3 has a free version, very limited and you get your submissions from there site so they get to spam the webmasters that submit!

SQL version it very good and it got a lot better with the latest update.
Haven´t tried comus so no comment there. |

The reason I was so harsh sounding in my original post was my frustration of two solid days tryimhg to populate my list to go public with it. From what I understood their free version was very limited, and yes every submit got spammed by them. We were trying to cut a corner in getting the intial tgp up and running and then pay for a script once we were going. We were willing to accept the limitations as they were for the interim. But the limitations did not include 1 out of every 10 submissions getting through(at best)...that is not limited...that is worthless. It definately did not help convince me to purchase their script with all the bells and whistles, in fact it convinced me never to deal with that company again. We have gone with Auto Gallery Pro and at this moment are pleased..I have it installed now to tweak it and get back on track :) Hope this reinforces in my mind what I already know...start with the best, and go on from there..lol Saves a lot of headaches down the road |
I think you made a good choice
|
TGP Browie by Germes is the best there is, I have used AGP and I have used TGP Brownie, Brownie is where it's at www.germesia.com
|
I'm sticking with my Comus thumbs, they're always improving it, I get an update every month with new features and I love the fact that I can use the script to rotate the banners
|
There's some pretty large and solid sites that use the PAID version of x3scipts so there must be something there.
AGP is a nice solid script that works well and it's not expensive. That being said I plan on changing to Brownie because it has some great time saving features. I would do it now but I'm just too damn busy with other things. You don't have much to loose by starting with AGP. |
Are there any websites or newsgroups that offer help and/or free advice with templates for the above programmes. I'm interested in what can be done witht he programmes as I have recently purchased a copy of Autogallery SQL
|
AGP has a help forum and full support for 3 months (I think) after the purchase date. Try there.
|
I know about that having purchased a copy. Just wondered if there were some other unoffical places to look to get some fresh ideas on what to do with the script.
|
Several well know tgp owners on this board use X-3 scripts.

The tgp owners I'm speaking of bought the script years ago and had it customized to their sites.
