Come on folks! Come and shoot the breeze with MrMaryLou at Greenguy and Jim's On The Bench every Saturday at 3pm EDT :) Come on and find out what's going on in the wonderful world of webmastering :)

This Week's Topic Is: Revisiting Hubs (aka Free Site v2.0)!

With all this talk about Kit's groundbreaking new Free Site v1.5 as well as the Earth shattering Free Site v2.0 concept (part of marc from hoes.com's thread) we have decided that now is a GREAT time to revisit this very popular & time tested marketing method!

When asked about Free Site v2.0, Kit said:

So come join MrMaryLou as he revisits a topic that he's covered on many past On The Bench shows as well as at last year's XBiz Summer Forum, where he was a speaker on the Traffic Panel. His topic was, oddly enough, HUBS!

Hubs what a concept :D

I remember the very first OTB
MML started it with the question "how many of you have hubs"
and I remember saying out loud "what the fuck is a hub" :D

My link list started out as a hub, never heard the term before I started it, but that's what it was and it pretty much stayed as a hub for about 7 or 8 years ;)

Hubs are likely the least used tool that give the greatest benefit to not just freesite submitters, but AVS site submitters and I would think TGP submitters as well, though I'm not too familiar with the TGP part of the biz.

What's with all the jack-assery?

I was just thinking today, I need to build more hubs for trade and traffic. I was thinking about doing a free site too (I haven't done one in years) and was wondering if dedicating a domain to a (more meaty) free site was something LLs like (I remember that being discussed years ago here, but I haven't done a FS in a long time.)

I'll try to log on to the bench tomorrow (but chances are I'll forget.) And I do miss that radio show.
