Signing Up For Shitty Sponsor Programs
Don't you hate it when you take 5 minutes to sign up for a program and when you finally get in, you find out just how shitty they are. Case in point, I log in after filling out the NATS signup and the niche I am looking for has no FHG, banners or content. [They do have a pretty good looking site though.] Those niches that do have FHG and content, haven't been updated since late 2007. Now I have to send them a note to tell them to take me off their database otherwise I'll get e-mail from them for the the next gazillion years. Fuckity fuck! I'm tired. |loony
I signed up for one yesterday that only had a couple of things on the signup form - name, email, site, etc. I assumed that once you got into the admin, there'd be a place to put in your payment info. When I logged in, I saw this:
All your affiliates provide that the billings will pay you directly. It took me at least 20 minutes of clicking on links in the admin to figure out that I can get paid via CCBill once I go thru about 30 extra steps |banghead| *** I also love the ones that say they have a webmaster referral program, but no link codes for it in the admin. |

I'm listening.........
Takes me back to the days when we first started. I remember when I had nothing but a few linking codes and the few tools that ccbill provided. Someday I might put pretty pictures on the sign-up page but I've been focusing on tools and content. I have a list of things to add for my affiliate area that is as long as my arm. If we're missing something you need, don't hesitate to ask - I'll add it to the list (or push it up in priority) I haven't forgotten that we need to add the capability to dump hosted gallery and FS links/titles/descriptions to a text file - it's on the list near the top! |couch
Lack of ads is the big one I see. I signed up recently for a new sponsor, only had a handful of 480x60 type banners. Still back in the 90's..:(
It's really amazing how many sponsors lack good ads. |
One site program/site I wanted to push didn't have an affiliates area (a real one, the billing program had their own crappy area for banners and such, but little else). Instead, you had to email the webmaster for resources. But I found that every time I emailed for resources I felt like I was bugging. And I knew they had them (I saw their galleries on other sites like Freeones) but they didn't have a master list for affiliates to browse.

lol
for the past few weeks, i have joined several programs and I have came across
rss feeds that havent been updated in months or even years -- rss feeds that dont send traffic to galleries with my codes on them magically getting approved to programs that i havent even seen let alone signed up for -- and no, it wasnt a sister program (i hope not with just two sites) no content no banners -- no fpads |huh (no problem i can make my own -- its better that way -- lol) -- just links to send traffic and fgh which would be fine if i had traffic to send to them then on the flipside -- there are 800 lb gorillas -- which will make life real fun for the next few months/years/decades/lifetimes |
So let me ask which sponsors are the ones that are good and have the tools one needs to promote them? because I am looking to start signing up with sponsors.|headbang|

My best sponsor by far is NaughtyAmerica. Most of the tools they offer work.

I have to say, I do think GMP Cash is one of the most affiliate-friendly and even affiliate-oriented programs I've had the privilege of signing up with. Their sites are in niches I don't usually cover, but I do promote them on every general site I have.

Tigermom, thank you very much for the kind words. Ill send that payment paypal or epass? HAHAH no serously we appreciate the program push and certainly try our best to accomdate each affiliate as best we can.

You should see mainstream affiliate programs.
Well, they do give you some banners that were designed in 1981 in MS Paint at least. ;) |
GMP has been good to me, I needed some specialized banners, asked for them and got them very quickly.
Thanks Jay and Papa |cheers
Very welcome SG...beers on you |bananna|
