direct links, filter pages, or sponsor url cloaker
I have been doing some major thinking lately --
back in the day using a fpad filter page to filter off your traffic before going directly going to the sponsor was a major way to increase sales -- it did for me about 33% when I implemented back in the day eventhough i have only read one site with a rule of not using them which i choose not to submit to -- i am not seeing them on any listed sites/tgp galleries which makes me question two things -- either they dont work any more which is understandable seeing that alot of the tours are freaking awesome -- or there is an unwritten rule against using them now, keep in mind -- i very rarely saw them back in the day but i did come across them which is brings up my second question -- url cloaking -- i see that mouseovers are out -- but what about cloaking the url -- i personally believe that this is very necessary seeing that I cannot change my sites once they are submitted -- and tours change all the time and would like to test them without having to break rules and change my sites to compensate for the traffic This is what I am thinking overall -- you linklist ppl tell me if i am on the right track or not -- I would like to send my traffic to XYZ Site via a URL cloak -- http://myfilter.com/xyz-site/ -- now after sending a few thousand hits -- I notice that the sponsor is doing very well -- np -- i continue sending them traffic the same way BUT for some reason the traffic doesnt convert -- or even worst the site shuts down -- I would like to change the landing page to one of my own which will be a XYZ Site fpad page with links to other paysites in the same niche now, I am not in no such form or fashion trying to think of a new way to cheat anyone -- ll, tgp, or sponsor -- just make the most from the traffic i am sending is this being done -- has it been done -- is it okay to be linked that way -- i need feedback |
My opinion has always been to send them to a FPad first to filter - or a hub or whatever other type of filtering device you want to use - the only problem that comes into play is when the sponsor is providing the content (of course we always recommend not using sponsor supplied content - but thats another thread) - as they usually require direct links to their sites
added - I cant think of any reason why anyone would have a rule against sending "your traffic" (when someone clicks your link on a gallery of free site it becomes your traffic) to a FPad - I do know some people dont allow FPAds within a submitted free site but the links can go anywhere you want them to as long as theyre not blind |
