New to all this, need some help
Hello people ! |waves| i started this site a month ago. i'm using wordpress as a content management tool only, my goal wasn't creating a blog. i wanted to make a site that had everything i like about other sites in one place, and make some extra money out of it. The problem? after a month, i have recieved 495 unique visits, 93 of them in one day after posting the link on a forum. and i dont think thats a lot. i have submited the site to all the big search engines and i'm getting some traffic out of that. i have tried linkex <-- if anyone wants to exchange links. Do any of you have any tips on how to increase traffic? whats the normal ammount of traffic i should expect from a site like mine? I would really appreciate your help |bow|

Well, first off let me say welcome to GG&J's..secondly, good luck with this and any further projects. Now Im not a big Blog guru but the main thing I see that is holding this blog back is the lack of text in your posts..you cannot gain traffic from a pic link alone. Its best to use descriptive text for each pic post to draw traffic as well as hardlink trades submission to directories, etc.
|
i read somewhere to use hardlinks and in the link include a description of what your gonna see inside. thats kind of what i'm doing, plus i'm writing a small description of the gallery. i put a voting sistem online today to see what people like and try to post more of that. but i think i'm running out of ideas.|huh
|
I still dont see any description at all..other than a tag line for each post

Welcome TEC...are you subscribing to a sponsor feed? Like Jester is saying, no description is going to hold you back. You need some unique original content to go with your pictures. Without it, there's nothing for the search engine's to pick up on and there's no extra little push to get your surfers to purchase. They can find beautiful pictures of fine hoes everywhere they need to read something about her to want to see more
Do the sites that you would like to emulate on your own have naughty sex stories that made you pull it all you want next to their pictures? I'd bet they did...start with that and build up... Best of luck to you... |
Hi Tec,
Welcome to GG&J. What you have there is really not a blog. It is a TGP housed withing a blog script. Even then, you are providing only a gallery a day unlike real TGPs where you'd get dozens. So, don't expect much search engine traffic because there is really nothing for the SE spiders to crawl. Second, without a trading script in the galleries, you won't get any traffic that way either. At best hard link trades or forum spamming will bring a trickle of surfers to your site. Lastly, with thousands of sites offering thousands of free galleries ask yourself what do you have to offer that is unique and compelling? I don't mean to be a prick but you don't build a site to satisfy your own porn tastes and then expect to make some money from it. Either put some real content that surfers want to see and read (articles, thoughts, interviews) or find another hobby. Best of luck to you. Quote:

Welcome aboard - and ignore Art (just kiddin) he always has some great input and is pretty much dead on all the time. .
Unique text is hard to beat (and pretty much required) but there are other thing that help (or hurt) I just ran the site through one of many tools I use: Keywords meta tag is too long. This tag contains 893 characters. This is too many for what we would consider a 'robot friendly' keywords tag. The maximum number of characters we recommend for this tag is 500. Keywords meta tag contains too many keywords. This tag contains 104 keywords. This is too many for what we would consider a 'robot friendly' keywords tag. The maximum number of keywords we recommend for this tag is 20. Keywords meta tag relevancy to page content is terrible. The keywords meta tag relevancy to page content is 12%. Your keywords aren't targeted and are very spammy - reduce the number and stick to one niche or focus. Based on the url, I'd focus only on handjobs - use a different url/blog for other niches. Reduce the keywords and add some text and be sure to get at least one new post per week (3 to 8 is better). Keywords should be in the content text too. A keyword in the metatags that isn't found on the site is seen as spam - at least to me......... It's a start - I still remember my first site - it was pretty bad..... |
thanks a lot for the input guys. i really dont mind people criticizing the site, thats what i wanted :D my intention was never to create a blog, i wanted to build a TGP just like art said it was. i'm only using wordpress as a content management script, thats all.

you bring a very good point, i think i'm going to focus more on handjob and blowjob (galleries :D) again, thanks a lot for your input, i will try to change some things this weekend as i have a full time job and i dont have the time i would like to spend on the site. i would also like to apologize if you have any trouble understanding me, as english is not my native language.|loony
Big question is, why do you want to do a TGP? The traffic quality is quite low and since you site is not a blog and it's not really a tgp, your going to have a tougher time getting traffic or trades.
I guess I don't understand why so many people want to waste their time with tgps, more so, those that do not have alot of time in the first place, like yourself. Maybe wasting their time is too harsh, it's just a tough model to get up and making good money. |
Nice site! You just forgot the closeup category :)

All good points here, and I have to agree with ronnie: "since you site is not a blog and it's not really a tgp, your going to have a tougher time getting traffic or trades." plus promoting AFF will not get you very far with members of this board.

ronnie: i gess the reason a lot of people (specialy noobs like me) waste time with TGPs is because is what we actualy like? i understand that what i like is not exactly what everyone else likes. but i guess that if you start doing something, you better start doing something you enjoy, and i enjoy TGPs. i dont fully understand all the types of porn pages. would enyone explain please? |loony| sorry for the slow response. i have a lot of work outside my website. it's 4:29 AM and i just updated the blog/tgp for the first time in 2 weeks (not including the ocational galerry here and there. thanks a lot for all the help guys.|bow

You have to remember, your giving away alot of free porn. Enough that some surfers can get their gollies without the need to sign up for a pay site. I don't mean to dash your dreams, if that what you really like and want to do, go for it. I believe that any one can do anything they set their mind to. It's just going to be a steeper climb. To get a tgp up to a point of profit or producing a nice income you need to really know how to trade with other tgp's and usually buy traffic to get it all going. Plus you'll need a good trade script. There are splogs that do make it big, but because they created a following. I think the big splogs still trade traffic like a tgp. Seems to me, the reason so many people start tgp's is the lure of big traffic. Course if you don't know all the different types of porn pages, how do you know a tgp is really what you like? Right now your site looks more like a splog to me. Course don't slogs just link to one picture, not galleries? I've never looked in to them. Different types of porn: TGP - (all pictures) Blog - (blog with pictures and a fair amount of text) Splog - (blog with only pictures and no or very little text) Links List - (human edited directory) Free Sites - ( mini site with 20-30 pictures or all movie clips. Usually submitted to Links Lists) Adult Search Engines (like an adult only google) Adult Forums Adult Webmaster sites Blog Directories ( like link list but only list blogs) What did I miss? |
This is a great thread, I've always thought the metatag keywords didn't really help very much so you may as well just throw everyhing in and see what happens. My site is a week old BTW so I'm gonna take a couple of good things from the comments here.

There is a huge learning curve to becoming a profitable adult webmaster. There are a bunch of potential ways to do it too, and you'll have to find out what works for you. This is just one site, in one format, and not the easiest to monetize. Even with 4000 unique visitors, let's say a 10% CTR, that's just 400 clicks to your sponsors, you'll have to be very very lucky to score a sale. With this kind of site, I'd say 40,000 unique visitors to a sale is more likely.
My advice to you is to browse adult webmasters boards and resources for a few days and just read, read, read and ask questions. Then come up with a plan for your own business. If you're serious about it, you'll need more than one site, and a whole lot more work. Good luck! |

What you guys think about black lable ads? from the onfo i got online, i believe it is like the adsense of porn. maybe is not such a bad idea to have a bunch of traffic even if they dont buy any subscriptions from your affiliates? |huh |
TEXT ... need lots of text. Go and find free pages to set up and link top your Main site. You need a bunch of "feeder" pages to link to your site. Are you putting titles in your img src tags ?
|
Adsense even in mainstream is usually not a big money maker, depending on the keywords. Your usually talking cents per click, when they even click. Black label doesn't say what they pay, you have to sign up to find out.
Question is, do you want to make cents per click or say $35 per sign up? Not to mention recurring that can make you money for months or longer. Most webmasters do not test and track their ads either, leaving money on the table. You can keep guessing with your site or actually test it to find out what really does work. |
I have been using Black Label for a while now.
For banner displays it roughly seems to work out at $0.01 for everything 2000 impressions - although you can have multiple ads on the same page, so one unique gives you 5 impressions etc. The price you make per click seems fairly variable, I am sure there is a formula somewhere for working it out, but suffice to say it isn't huge. |
Quote:
So what is the average payment per click, say you figured for a month, total payment divided by number of clicks? |
Quote:
Ignoring the fact I get money for impressions and just taking total earned divided by clicks in May I had - $1.07 per click. |
they also pay for those full page ads that "popup" every now and then. i think with a website with a lost of traffic (maybe 5000 visits a day) people can make good money
