Thumb sizes and total galleries

I was wanting to know what the standard Thumb Size is for Thumb TGP...is it 150px 170? less more?

and as far as number of thumbs showing..is 200 about the normfor front page?

I submit to quite a few Thumb TGPs and probably 25% of them require a thumb size of 180x135.

There is no standard thumb size for tgps. I still make thumbs of 88x88, 110x110, 120x120, 90x120, 100x150, 110x150, 120x90, 140x140, 140x180, 150x150, and 180x135 when I submit.

Check the sizes for other TGP's in the same niche. My personal preference right now is 120x160.

As for qty. 150 +/- is a good ballpark figure.

Thanks guys... HW - yeah I cut my own thumbs when making galleries. I was more thinking of "my own" TGP type of site...

Toby do you use ST?

Toby 2008-04-28 06:45 PM

No, I don't use ST. I'm using TGPX on my most recent TGP, and will be upgrading 4 other sites from AutoGallery Pro to TGPX over the next month.

Very good.. I thought it was you that had the ST install problem..my mistake..carry on LOL

I use 100x150 . . . I know I'm late to the party but just thought I would share anyway.

I use different sizes across my network. I am switching all of my smaller thumbs over to a larger size, 140x150 being the smallest.

you can see if you use a program like chameleon just how many different sizes are used by different sites.

i think if you are thinking of making thumbs for your own hosted galleries then bigger is better in my opinion. bandwidth is far cheaper than it used to be and i think it looks more attractive to the surfer to see a larger image.

we use 190 or 200 pixels on our hosted galleries for affiliates to use.

Care to explain why you're using unauthorized James Bertoni content in your hosted galleries?
