AFF Payments?

Hiya all

I haven't got my Adult Friend Finder payment for last month as yet, has anybody got theirs? I've been promoting them for years and never had an issue before :S

Thanks!

Mandy ;)

Not many of AFF fans here. Most of us don't care to promote sponsors that cheat their affiliates using Zango and support content thieves by placing ads and allowing affiliate links on illegal tube sites, torrent sites, etc.

Bobc01 2008-05-06 07:47 AM

Not to mention the heavy spamming of other dating systems, site theft, SE spamming and probably a huge list of other things that could be said.

ArtWilliams 2008-05-06 08:55 AM

Other than all of the above, we like them a lot! :D

koolkat 2008-05-06 05:54 PM

No... I did not get last months either?

SheepGuy 2008-05-06 07:35 PM

They're fucking you over, move on.

epic1231 2008-05-06 08:09 PM

check your account make sure they are not putting the payments on hold like they did to me - long time affiliate of theirs i stopped promoting because conversions went to hell and now they won't pay me my earnings until my traffic levels return to the way they used to "per their terms of service" apparently

*****yea sorry i don't post much but I just despise AFF right now and had to vent a little |banghead|

You're not alone - and for good reasons - don't even get me started......

Greenguy 2008-05-06 10:37 PM

Is that really in their TOS? They might be the worst example of an affiliate program I have ever heard of.

Ms Naughty 2008-05-07 02:02 AM

There doesn't seem to be any way of getting off their stupid affiliate spam list either. I have an old account with them and still get about 6 different emails at once about some shit or another. Thankfully they're marked as spam and don't get into my inbox anymore.

Yea it is , I finally got someone on ICQ after about 10 tries of leaving him msgs and asked if he could reinstate my account as since i don't promote it much anymore I just want my funds he said no not until I get my traffic levels returning.

What is funny though is every month I get an epass payout from them in the mid xxx range for affiliates I had referred to them in the past but yet the commissions I have sitting in my regular accounts which is not much but it's still my money from my traffic and they won't pay until I start promoting them again

Three other tidbits from the AFF terms that you have to love (I think most know about the first one):

For example, after reviewing affiliate statistics, we convert affiliates that do not meet the 20-1 (unique click to sign up ratio) from a CPC or Per Member account to a percentage payout without notification.. We also convert affiliates that do not meet the 25-1 (signups to paying membership) from a CPC or Per Member account to a percentage payout without notification. If you do not agree with our decision to change the schedule, your affiliate membership will be terminated as provided in paragraph 16.

if a visitor comes to our site from Site A (your site), but does not sign up for a free trial or membership and later returns directly to our site to sign up for a free trial or membership no commission will be paid.

You agree to fully cooperate in any investigation we choose to perform for compliance under the above FTC-Various Order or to determine any violations of our Affiliate Program Agreement, including but not limited to, retaining for 8 years and immediately providing to us on our demand with any copies of historical web pages/URLs or online ads that contain(ed) on such web pages/URLs or online ads sexually explicit advertisements or promotions of our sites, goods, and services.

No wonder they have to make deals with the tube sites. Who else in their right mind would send traffic to these guys? |crazy|

Are these all things implemented during Lars' reign? I'm just want to put a face on my hatred.

Bobc01 2008-05-07 02:12 PM

I doubt many people read their TOS, that looks like a pure fuckover.

I don't know who Lars is but the guy must have 24/7 armed protection.

koolkat 2008-05-07 04:46 PM

I am not on a pay per signup/click... I am solely on pay per sale. Surprisingly I have done better $$$ with sales than clicks. This is the first time in years that I have not see a check, and it is possible my ex-wife got a hold of it and didn't give it to me.
I know they are a pain in the ass to many people but they are one of my better converting sponsors. Yesterday I sent a whopping 4 unique referrals to them and had 2 signups! Can't really beat that conversion ratio. Hell... the other day was really good to me (of course it was probably a rebill or something), I didn't send any referrals and had 1 sale! 0:1... I like that! :)

You know, there's a lot of money to be made promoting all kinds of scummy sponsors. And if you'll promote AFF and be happy to take their money, some of which was taken from other webmasters who never got paid or stolen from them via Zango and other malware, you may as well promote all the other scum programs out there too. Really, why settle for just the little you can make on AFF alone? I mean, promoting them means that most reputable site owners won't ever do any business with you, so you're going to have to do something to make up for all the money you'll be losing from deals you'll never, ever get to do.

Choose your path wisely.

Lars generally refers to himself as "The Legendary Lars", so it's not surprising you haven't heard of him. I think he was legendary a very long time ago, possibly in a different galaxy far far away.

Bobc01 2008-05-07 07:21 PM

Well, people can be legendary for many different things, i guess in his case the legendary arsehole would fit right.

tigermom 2008-05-08 12:45 AM

I ran across this page a while ago, posted in a mainstream webmasters board (AFF are not considered strictly adult apparently) -
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/...Off0117706.htm

Not sure if it's genuine, but if it is, it's the first time I've seen actual proof from a coder about programming affiliate shaving into a sponsor's system.

Michael 2008-05-09 06:43 PM

After reading all those Im impressed...

Thats why I only promote adult date link and **********...

Well... in the 11 or 12 years I have done this, I have been fucked over hundreds of times by affiliate programs with thousands of dollars owed to me that I will never see. Yes, there are some good honest ones out there, but lets face it, the majority of them out there are out for one thing... for THEM to make money, not the webmaster. I don't promote much of anything anymore since I have gotten screwed over so bad. A few dollars to cover the basic hosting cost, and I don't really give a shit about this business much any more because of how it has gotten. I started back up a free adult forums I used to run, so I just am providing a fun place for adults to come and talk about adult stuff and I don't give a damn about it making money. My delusion of grandeur in this business are long gone! There is too much free stuff out there and too much is being given away for people to make a living doing this easily. Link list don't list forums, so I don't really have to worry about doing business with anyone, so I am making my own path now!

GenXer 2008-05-13 03:47 AM

I signed up for it when it was streamray and legendary lars and I promoted the cams. He was really cool and the program was great back then. After it changed over to new hands, Lars basically just became a "face" a "marketing gimmick" for the company since people were so used to seeing his face associated with the affiliate program.

I have to agree with everyone that AFF is bull and not worth promoting. I think there are many other programs that are worth your time.
