OpenX / AdsNew Setup Help
 

I got OpenX installed and I am ready to go, but I need to know how do you set up sponsors and their sites.

I am thinking this:
Advertiser = Sponsor
Campaign = Site

Does that sound right? Any tips before I go load a bunch of banners and run into problems?

Here's how I do it.

Advertiser = Sponsor
Campaign = Paysite
Publisher = My sites (ie. we-r-sex.com, planetofporn.net)
Zones = Individual pages on my sites.

I'm sure there's plenty of ways to complicate it further :) but this works for me.

Excellent info, Lemmy. I've had a hell of a time getting my brain around OpenAds, but I think mapping things out like you outlined above will get me going. I gave up a while back and purchased Adpeeps, but I think I will force myself to learn OpenX.

This probably needs a new thread, but what's up with Open"X"...is it just OpenAds with a new name?

I tried and gave up a couple of times myself before I finally got it. The learning curve is somewhat steep |loony| but worth the trouble.

OpenX is just the latest name for what used to be phpAdsNew I believe.
