Server Will Be Down

Hi All. Just got an email this morning that my (once) wonderful hosting company that I've been with for over 10 years will be taking it upon themselves this morning to move my server to a new company (which I know NOTHING about) due to "shrinking margins" and having to downsize their backbone internet connection or some such crap. Anyway, wanted everyone to know I guess all my sites and email will be down starting in about 20 minutes from this post and god only knows when it'll all come back up (and if all my scripts and stuff will work!). Please be patient and not remove all my sites, galleries, trades, etc., etc.

Thanks! :)

You have to learn to enjoy the things that are out of your control. ;)

Make sure you update your nameservers when you see your sites go down and it should go smoothly when your box gets brought back to life.

Nameservers! Thanks UW - I had totally forgotten about that.

Lady Designer, if you need help getting your box back to life hit me up anytime |bananna| Sorry I just couldnt resist.

but seriously, best of luck with the move. And as UW has said, something you have no control over...take it with ease.

That sucks, but no worries about your sites being pulled here. |shake|

ladydesigner 2008-06-12 10:45 AM

Update: as of right now things have gone from bad to worse. All my domains are down but am working with another hosting company to locate all my databases and get all my stuff moved over to a new machine. I'll understand if you guys have to pull my sites/galleries/trades, etc. but I hope y'all will be patient with me and give me a few days to fix this mess. Thanks! :)

Tekster 2008-06-12 11:21 AM

No worry here, the sites and trades are safe. :) Good luck with the move.

No worries, mate. (I don't know why, but my 8 year-old son likes to say that and "G'day, mate" to me all the time. The first time I hear him say "crikey" or "blimey," I'm shipping him off to DD.

Anyway, your links are safe here.

Your stuff is safe with me. :)

I guess you know who I think you should get hosted with. ;)

ladydesigner 2008-06-18 08:41 AM

Ok folks! Still having hosting issues. All my sites are up at this time BUT there's no webmaster page for submits to Click 4Sex Fun. Hopefully this'll be fixed today. Can't get into my admin to fix anything sooooo if y'all are needing to submit a site to me, please email it to ladydesigner at entouch.net. I'll get your sites added as soon as I can. Don't take Click 4Sex Fun off your submit list! It'll be up and running again.... soon! :)

Just wanted to post another update about my hosting problems. It's now been two weeks since I moved to a new host and new server. Today click4sexfun "broke", I can't make changes to sexysmutlinks nor can I make any free sites or basically do any work as nothing is working with the new server, file permissions are fucked up, htaccess won't work, databases are jacked up, etc., etc. Did I mention that I think I'm going to have a stroke or something from stress?!

Anyway, it was brought to my attention (thanks Papa!) that there's an issue with the submit url for click4sexfun. Years ago I changed my submit url when I got a link list script installed to http://www.click4sexfun.com/cgi-bin/links/add.cgi. That's what y'all should be using to submit but I had a redirect on the old submit url so as not to have to ask anyone to update their bookmarks. However, now that the htaccess file isn't working, I would like to ask you all to update your submit link for click4sexfun. As far as I know (as of the time I'm writing this), I can still take submissions to both of my link lists. It's just that I can't do any reviews or list your sites for a few more days. Thanks all for your understanding and PLEASE don't drop me from your submit lists! I'm now going to walk away from the computer before I take a sledge hammer to it just because I'm pissed off! Thanks for letting me vent..... |banghead|

Man, that sucks. It will all get better, I'm sure.

After going through all that, I'd hate to be the person that is dumb enough to suggest that all you do is 'play on a computer all day'. |knockout|
Hope you get this mess sorted out soon. :)

Star Man 2008-06-30 07:56 PM

Hey ladydesigner. That's a real shame about your situation.Your site suddenly 'breaking' is just downright piss poor!Isn't tech support helping you? |confused| If they can't do their job then you can't do yours so you might want to consider moving if your even able to.I use cyberwurx and love it!They have a known good rep in the biz so its a safe bet!If my site suddenly 'broke' tech support would be on it and fix the problem within minutes. It would simply be a non-issue.

Anyway, thanks for submitting your quality sites and galleries to me.I'm behind on reviews because I'm making a few changes in my TGP script but I get everything situated,I'll be sure to get them listed :)

ladydesigner 2008-07-01 06:06 PM

Well, I'm happy to report that my hosting seems to be all "fixed" (knock on wood!). That's all I'm gonna say about that!

Star Man - thanks for letting me know you're behind on reviews. I was starting to think there was no love for my galleries from you. ;)

Seriously, hope you have a good vacation, leave the computer at home and whatever you do, do NOT turn on your icq. :D

Hello ladydsigner .It sound like you had big mess out there.I always run link scanner once a week but your sites were safe.I hope you get help from your hosting company otherwise it sucks to deal with such thing alone.
I know it's not the place and time but when my host ( http://www.atcihosting.com/ ) moved me from cheap virtual to a semi-dedicated server I didn't even notice anything , but it's a different story.
Anyway I'm glad that everything works out.
Have a good nice long weekend .
