NEWBIE: Considering an Adult Review Site..?

Hello everyone...i am actually pretty new to all this...However, i did at one point back around 2002...try some tgp submissions etc, which i actually made around $250 my first month...but for what ever reason i Stopped...Crazy, yes i know...Anyway, i know alot has changed since then...and i recently got the thought of possibly creating an Adult Review Site......I currently have a domain name for one, but i will hold off on revealing the name - until the time is right & when its built out properly.

I would really appreciate any input you all may have on creating an adult review site....i know there are currently some adult review sites out there that are doing fairly well, as far as monthly traffic etc....and am hoping that my efforts in creating an adult review site will be worth it....|confused|

What do you all think?.....any advice?....any negative thoughts?....|huh

I appreciate any help you can offer..thanks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks.

Your questions are very general, which is why you've gotten no replies. Most of us are more than willing to answer specifics when we can, but really don't have the time or inclination start down the path of Adult Review Sites 101.

This business has always been, and probably always will be, a matter of trial and error. Start building the site and try some things. Keep what works, toss what doesn't, then try something else. When you run into problems and can't see an obvious solution, that's the time to come ask questions.

Web sites are dynamic beasts. What you end up with may have hardly any resemblance to what you had in mind when you started.

Ya, you make a good point...thanks Toby

i was actually thinking of doing something similar...i imagine a review site could be good since you can link all the reviewed sites for commissions, if your an affliate...right?

Original content on the net always goes down a storm, when you think of the amount of sites that rely completely on what other people have done and written, your own reviews would be a breath of fresh air.

Lots of work though! Especially if it becomes popular, you could have hundreds of sites wanting reviews at any one time.

Ya your right 'Justbondage'....it does seem like it can be quite overwhemling...but, i guess thats the goal...to get to a point that everyone would want to be reviewed on the site....I just really need to learn the process i should i take...and hopefully network with people who may have or are doing an adult review site to hopefully understand the process abit better....of course, alot will be from trial & error...but its always good to connect with people who have been down that road before..

What would be a good idea, since so many people want to create a review site is to do it as a team...I've attempted a review site on my domain jerkfinder.com but i can't review 2600 websites by myself...if you hooked up as a team and everyone put their referral codes in their reviews, then it would be just compensation. I don't know...just a thought...

I think that's a damned good idea

ya..i was taking something like that into consideration too...since there is sooo many sites...and im not quite sure yet how to handle it all..since im still learning..

I have an unlimited license for my linklist script...It'd be very easy to create a link list for the reviews and give everyone admin access that wanted to post their reviews or something like that...i don't know...with all the projects I have going on, it'd be easier to just form a team to focus on the ones with the most potential and make those lucrative then stringing along 15 different projects...i know i'm not the only one in this boat... =)

The problem with teaming up is if everyone is at a different standard of writing, then the website as a whole could be a mixed bag, and really one person wouldn't be in a position to say "sort out your work or you are out" type thing.

Just my 2 pennies worth!

I agree justbondage...i'm not saying there wouldn't be challenges...but if we could establish some good criteria to base the narrative on and then maybe some of the better writers wordsmith some of the lesser quality writers, it could happen...it's just a means to an ends...and everyone with a paysite could write their review and maintain the review if they desired...hmmmm...i'm just thinking out loud here....

This is a good idea, You could count me in for this.
I have a lot of projects going on, but I could find time to write some reviews everyday.
