Content on index page?

How do you guys go about explicit content on index pages? In my understanding the index page is designed to be a warning page so that people who got there by accident and minors can back off. Is my understanding correct or am I a couple of years behind?

I've read on the board before that there's an assumption that someone entering your site in a directory other than your root can't assume there won't be any xxx content and something to the effect that you submit sites that are built a few directories deep and the surfer enters your site from a porn site, such as LOR or PenisBot, etc...and they're coming from porn, looking for porn, and finding porn...that said, I've been rejected from some linklists for having hardcore or full nudity on the index page of my freesite that is three directories deep...and once it was for a set of titties on a sponsor provided banner...so there's no solid answer to this that I'm aware of...

99% of the sites I submit to regularly don't decline for this.

I generally avoid any kind of penetration or cumshots on the index page but I've had plenty of mouths open with a hard dick ready to go in, intercourse about to happen, etc. with no problems.

I don't have any rules regarding content on the index/warning page. |huh

hmmm, you all make it sound like there is no actual need for an index page ... why not just skip it and link to the main page? I guess that is the old discussion about free sites 1.5 and 2.0?

I try to avoid hardcore on the warning page. Some LL's don't like it, so I just play along. I don't think it really matters, myself. I can see some logic in it, actually, not so much in protecting the surfer, but in making the term "warning page" make sense.

Build your pages any way you want and make adjustments accordingly. Sometimes you can think to much on one subject and get nothing done. ;)

I think this has changed over the past few years. I don't think many LL's will refuse a site for hardcore content on the warning page. Some LL's even have hardcore images in their recips. I certainly don't reject on Joy Porn for that reason.

The whole idea of a 'Warning' has always mystified me. Most kids when seeing a notice 'Beware, Hardcore Porn Site ahead' will take it as an invitation. :D

I don't usually put hardcore on the index or warning page because it kind of defeats the purpose of having a warning if right next to it their is babe sucking a big cock or getting DP'd. |loony| But I only know of one LL that will reject for it or directly has a rule about it.

I have a little-known rule on one of my lists that ALL of my submitters have ignored even though it's clearly printed on top of the main page of the submission area as soon as you log in:

Quote:

I will no longer list free sites that don't have a photo of my grotesquely engorged cock on the index, above the warning text. I will be taking new high-def pics of my cock later, for those of you who no longer wish to use the old ones. If you'd like me to write your name, or the name of your site, on my cock, please let me know in advance.
You probably think I'm kidding, but my submitters know I'm not.

Maybe I should sell ad space on my ass?

Ages ago I had a client named Prankmasters that did a lot of crazy things. They had a Balloonogram with a stripping gorilla -- someone in a gorilla suit that stripped down to a gstring (which of course was on the outside of the gorilla suit). The thing that makes this funny is that they had a guy named Frank that did Moon-O-Grams. He'd write the message on his behind, and moon the recipient. For office environments they did a half-moon which had the message written on his undewear. In '93, they charged $450 for the moon-o-gram and $250 for the half-moon-o-gram.

It might be more lucrative than you might think. :)
