suggestions for getting listed, getting traffic and affiliates!
 

What suggestions do you guys have for getting your sites and affiliate program name out there. What linklists are working best right now? What about tube sites? Do they really drive traffic to your sites? If so, what's the best time length for clips. Just looking for some ways to generate more traffic and bring on more webmasters.

We were lacking in updates, but that has just changed as we've just shot a bunch more and are adding them at about 2 a week.

I'd suggest spending some time reading through traffic generation threads on this message board and other webmaster boards. There's a thousand different ways to generate traffic, this particular board focuses mostly on free sites and link lists.

As far as gaining affiliates, get involved in the community and find out what webmasters want/need for promotion and make it available. It always helps to have high payouts too... :D

Unfortunately there's no cookie cutter answers to your questions. It's going to take time and research on your part to find out that works best for you and your business plan.

At 1st I thought this might be a clever |spam| directed at getting new affiliates for your program, but seeing as the image in your sig file is not linked....:D

There's really 3 questions about traffic in this thread: Link Lists, Tube Sites & Affiliate Program.

I can address the Link List question by saying that if you're building straight forward Free Sites (warning page - main page - galleries) that follow the rules of the Link Lists, you'll have little or no problems.

As far as marketing your affiliate program, you can submit it to resource sites (our submit page is located here), trade links with other programs, buy advertising on resource sites & message boards, offer payouts for webmaster referrals, etc.

I hate tube sites :D

If you want more affiliates run promos, and have lots of tools for them to use.

Content is king or learn SEM. This is a good place to start.

Thanks for the good info. I do appreciate it and I'm hearing the same from everyone on Tube sites, that they are just for freeloaders looking for free porn. Do you have any experience yet with iPorn, as I do have a way to convert all my content to MPG4 format for iphones and other portable media players. If my understanding of iPorn is correct, that's the service they offer webmasters and I'm curious if it's leading to much revenue or not.

And by the way... I am trying not to spam.... I am honestly looking for ways to promote our sites to get more affiliates on it. Right now we are converting every update movie clip to 1280 x 720, so everything is full screen and the quality is there too. My webmaster feels that's going to give us an advantage over a lot of sites that have small movie clips. I guess our other big issue is we don't have a lot of updates up yet. I've got a lot of content now to upload... what's you're feeling on how many updates a surfer needs to see a site have before he'll make a purchase. And is updating weekly good enough for more clients?

What kinds of tools as an affiliate do you like and want? You did join our program and have sent some traffic, but like you said... ask your affiliates what they need and want, so I'm asking. Btw... the next thing I'm going to do for affiliates is set up zip files with their own tgp and mgp files in them. Something like 20 pics and 3-4 movies so they can create their own galleries as one of my new affiliates suggested that. She said she deals with a lot of free sites and they prefer galleries the webmaster makes up, as opposed as the same gallery the affiliate program makes for every webmaster. What's your take on it.

1280x720 is a nice size to offer, but I'd also make sure you are putting up something smaller for your members with a slower connection or shitty video card.
