Not as long as the domain name stays the same although there might be some slight interruptions due to propagation of the new IP information.

I don't think so... in fact I'm pretty sure not

Sounds good thanks... now can anybody tell me how the best og most painless way to move a blog?

Should i just make a new wordpress install, and then copy the database and set the new wordpress up to use that and the copy all the theme files, or how is the best way to do it

thanks

I don't think that the wp-config file requires server file paths, so that will make life pretty easy. You should be able to simply upload your existing WP installation on the new server, upload its database, verify/edit the database settings on wp-config.php and be good. Then change your nameservers. I haven't played with the most recent WP revisions, so I'm assuming that wp-config.php is still set up similar to the way it used to be.

I just switched a few blogs from one server to another, just as Useless Warrior described. Fairly simply process. SEs shouldn't care if the IP changes as long as all the urls stay the same.

I've had to do this a few times, wordpress provides good instructions:

Pretty easy process, basically just copy the files and export/import your database.
