Jerry Seinfeld Microsoft commercials

I just don't get the new commercials for Microsoft.

I don't find them funny and they don't seem to give any reason to buy a Microsoft product.

Why would they?

Bill 2008-09-12 04:48 PM

That is truly bizarre.

Some kind of viral marketing frankenstein...

First one's gone already - second one may be gone any second now.

Both are there for me and I'm at a different laptop so I'm not reading from cache or anything.

Bill 2008-09-12 05:30 PM

It's back up now - but there was a "removed by copyright holder" there before...

freakin bizarre...

MeatPounder 2008-09-12 05:41 PM

Maybe they keep taking it off by accident everytime they go in and remove the seinfeld sex videos

emac 2008-09-12 06:15 PM

I think that's another ads strategy, just to make it something strange.

Yeah, because you rarely see copyrighted material being removed from tube sites |crazy|

I was thinking the same thing, one commercial seems to be good for selling cheap shoes lol|loony|

Mr. Blue 2008-09-12 11:17 PM

Hmm, umm...it makes me want to buy a Mac. (Which says a lot as I still believe Macs = The Scientology of the computer world).

It's like they had a bunch of money to spend but smoked a bunch of weed and started filming.

Cleo 2008-09-13 10:37 AM

I'm guessing that Microsoft is trying to emulate the Apple ads and is just clueless.

IMO these Microsoft ads are some of the worst ads I've ever seen. Between the Vista debacle and these new ads I'm just glad that I don't own any Microsoft stock.

yet, it is powerful branding, and, they've gotten you talking about it. :)

I don't really get the message they are trying to convey, but, I think they are playing off the Burmashave method.

If they did smoke weed, it should have been a lot funnier.

I do have a sudden urge to have some soup and sit down at my Mac to do some design work in Photoshop.

Good joint...I mean point...:D

As someone said in the comment section, people are talking about the ads and products without any mention of them. There is no bashing, no "our product is better than theirs" and are a smarter kind of funny. I can't wait for the next installment.
