Replacing the recip of a LL that rejected a FS

Hi everyone,

I assume it has happened to all of us. Submit a Free Site, get listed on most LLs and get rejected by the rest few. Usually it's because of some specific rule for a LL that was broken, a strict reviewer, or maybe just bad luck.

Changing the site to comply with the LL that rejected us might upset the other LLs that have already listed the site, so it's not always an option. What happens then is that we have an occupied recip spot with no traffic coming in from that LL.

Is replacing that recip also an unacceptable change in the html?
If it is then aren't we practically giving the LL that rejected us a free link back and free traffic (even if it's a couple of clicks)?

Depends on what you want to do. Personally I have better things to do than to go through my old sites removing/replacing recip links. If you really want to, you could do that though.

The easier solution would be to either remove that LL from future FS's you build, or let it ride.

some people have tables that are included so replacing it across the board is easy.

personally freesites are just kinda of a put up and forget thing to me.

Yes, you are giving a free link, but so what. Keep going forward. Build. Submit. Forget. Sometimes forgetting is difficult but its an important part of the business.

I guess you 're right. Problem is that I'm still in the phase of Build-Submit-Don't Forget. I go back to see what I did wrong and learn from it but in the process I notice sub-optimum things like that. Maybe I should just forget it and worry about the next FS instead of the previous one.

I do it from time to time...it might be an opportunity to ty out a new list it you've already got a site ready to submit, you can just swap out the recip.

The most time saving strategy I can think of right now ;)

If you're just getting started and finding out who will list your sites and who won't, go ahead and swap out the LL's that don't list you. Once you have a good handle on who lists you, build and forget. You don't want to make 100's of sites with the same LL's not listing you.
