Site Review for Newbie

|bananna|
This is my third site since I started learning html in January. I've been getting a lot of help from the folks at netpond but I'm new over here.

My latest attempt is:

http://www.cyber-nude.com/redheads/

Comments are extremely appreciated.

P.S. I just had to use the banana - he's so cool!

Welcome to the board liontamer |waves|

1 - I'd put that "True connoisseurs know..." text into a table that's 6-700 wide so that it's not the only thing sticking out on the sides of the page

2 - "Enter Club Strawberry..." text link will get you declined on a lot of link lists - we like to see only one link with the word "enter" in it & that is the enter link :) Also, having that text a font size bigger then the enter link is not helping matters :(

3 - the main page looks "off" to me - see the image I've attached below to see what I mean

4 - the galeries look ok, but you could tighten them up a bit & try to use the same size thumbs for everything - it makes the page flow a little better (the way you have it now, with different length's & height's looks unprofessional to me)

5 - http://www.cyber-nude.com/redheads/images/Gal2/004.jpg - while the rule of thumb is 500 on one side of the pics, pics like this are not going to cut it.

All told, it's not bad, just a little tweaking I guess :)

liontamer,

Structure etc looks ok

Couple of thing on the index page..

"Click *here* now to view tons of hot redheaded action." Could be called a false enter? or blind?

A double enter link will get you declined in some places. - Standard rule - A clear cut warning page without misleading "enter" links.

Thanks GreenGuy,

I put the text in a table on the index page and fixed the double "enter" issue. Am working on the rest.

Thanks for your advice GG and DD!

I've made the recommended changes - how does it look now?

Greenguy 2004-02-18 04:31 PM

Some of the thumbs on the gallery pages still look odd to me, but that probably because I'm looking for them now (and I have to assume it's very hard to go back & correct them if you didn;t start out with the same size pics in the beginning)

Also, this page:
http://www.cyber-nude.com/redheads/Gallerymain.html
still looks like the screencap I posted above :(

I think I've got the gallery main page fixed. I put the sponsor banners in a table so they are centered on the page. Is that what you were talking about?

For the thumbs, are you saying each one should be exactly the same size as the others? I can make that happen by redoing the images and then making new thumbs, I just need to know if I understand you correctly first.

Thanks again.

http://www.cyber-nude.com/redheads/Gallerymain.html - that looks a lot better now :D

& as far as the thumbs, maybe I'm just being picky, but I tend to make all my pics the same size before I make the thumbs, which means everything on the page has a flow of sorts.

Looking better Liontamer..

I will let GG continue :)

Do the thumbs and images look better now, Mr. GG?

Greenguy 2004-02-19 07:10 AM

Then give yourself a pat on the back for steering me in the right direction! Thanks for your help, and you too DD. These boards are a great place for newbies like me to learn what it takes. Another 50 sites or so and I might just start making some money!
