Epassporte - still lame after all these years

Ah, Epassporte. The most security-laden transaction site in the world. That's a good thing, of course, but when it takes fully 15 minutes to jump through all the login barriers, load money...

And then I find out the money I loaded has gone, with no warning, into my Virtual Visa account instead of my wallet. Ah, there is a customer service email, telling me they did this for my convenience, since I am a major user of my Virtual Visa account (which I have never used, even once).

OK, no problem, I'll just transer the newly-loaded money from there to my wallet. Fine. Now to make that payment to that paid TGP partner account. Check all the details - yep it's all good. Until it bounces back with the uninformative error message "There was an error processing your request. Please try again later."

"Later" gives the same result.

Are there actually sponsors who actually try to use this as a payment method for memberships? |club|

A bit frustrated with ePass myself.

I have just one non-US sponsor that pays me via ePass. Getting the funds out of the ePass system is a pain.

I don't have an ePass debit to withdrawl the funds via ATM, that $35 annual fee is BS.

They won't do a wire transfer for less than $1000, and they charge $50 for that.

You can now have funds credited to a debit or Visa card, but when you try to validate a card online you get a message that it must be done manually and you must phone to get the proper forms.

Major league pain in the ass.

I guess I'll have to resort to hitting someone up for a ePass/PayPal swap.

I have ACH deposits made from epassporte -- maxes at $600, but, allows it to be ACH'ed to a US bank account with a $3 fee.

Hmmm, I'll have to look at the admin again. Didn't see that option. Thx.

Chris Mallick has made it very clear that if your not one of his beautiful people he really doesnt give a fuck.

Besides hes off shooting movies about this business in hopes of rewriting history.

To bad for him there are enough of us around to remember what really happened and boards like Oprano with enough of what really happened online for anyone that looks.

Ive said it many times and Ill say it again... that turd is never going to polish no matter how many times you try and shine it.

Fuck epassporte and fuck pompous asshole Chris Mallick.

Bill 2008-10-25 02:46 PM

I was interested in trying the "load to a credit card" function.

Tried to load it to one card - ooops - it's a master card, they won't do master card.

Shrugged - well, thats a wash - then tried to load it to a visa that I have my wife use for her shopping.

Only to get a message that bank doesn't allow it, hahahah.

So, for the moment, I've given up on the idea of using it that way. Anybody try the "load to credit card" and have it work?

I've yet to try withdrawing from an atm with that 'electron' card - but thats next on the agenda. I got the damn thing, might as well see if it works.

I think epassporte works well enough - just a bit finicky.

stuveltje 2008-10-25 03:43 PM

now as a foreign i cant even load my epas accound thru bank or whatever, but epass is for me is still better then that damn pay pal, who blocked my accound after a payment of 4000 dollars, just like that and then say, you can get the money, if you pay 150 bucks....i did that time and pulled all and said put that damn accound up in your ass. i still havent got that problem with epass.....

Star Man 2008-10-25 04:34 PM

Yeah epassporte blows. It is sort of neat to be able to use it like a visa credit card and buy stuff online though.

stuveltje 2008-10-25 04:43 PM

still dont see the problem, i can pay on the internet and i can pull thru atm......so maybe epassporte is good for only foreign people?

ladydesigner 2008-10-25 05:21 PM

I guess I'm in the minority but I haven't had any problem with Epassporte. I have one of the Visa electron cards and use it at stores and to withdraw from ATM's with no trouble. The only thing that hasn't worked for me is trying to use the virtual account to make a purchase on Amazon. Amazon doesn't work with Epassporte or something which is a pain seeing as how Amazon is such a big company. Overall, I like having my sponsors pay me via Epassporte since I don't trust the mail system where I live to deliver checks. Before I got the electron card, I just transfered my money from Epassporte to my bank account. That was a little slow (6-7 days) though.

Nope, I don't have any problems with epassporte and I'm in the US. |waves|

Star Man 2008-10-25 05:50 PM

Well, for me anything involving epassporte either ends up being a big hassle or costs me way more money then it should have.Partially because I'm an idiot but also because epassporte just sucks.

First off theres a 13 waiting day period if you want to take money from your checking account to put on the card.13 days after I requested a 100 dollar transfer I totally forgot about the whole thing and didn't have any cash in my account for them to take out. BOOM!Charged 40 bucks for the bounce!

Another 13 days later,100 bucks exactly was put on my card...but wait! Theres an eight dollar (forgot exact figure) fee for the transfer they take from the money thats on my card...That leaves me with only 92 dollars and I have to make a 100 dollar payment! Now I have to do another 15 dollar (minimum amount) transfer and wait another 13 days to break even! Like I said,I'm an idiot but also epassporte also just sucks.|banghead|

Also, unless you know someone that can do an epass to paypal for you (I didn't at the time) it ain't happening! All those epass to paypal sites are a total joke.Basicly you end up instant messaging the person and the conversation go's like this.

Star Man: Hi.Would it be possible to do a 100 dollar epass to paypal transfer?

epass transfer guy:No

Star Man: OK,bye

Anyhow, I know that half my problems can't be blamed on epassporte but I don't go though this BS with anything else.Only E PAIN IN THE ASS port.

Star Man 2008-10-25 05:59 PM

On a positive note, once I finally got my Tommy's Bookmarks partner account I was dancing around like a little dutch girl all night long! |jester|

Definity worth the extra trouble! |thumb

Oh yes, a fee for everything, and no warning/announcement in advance, which is why I had to load money twice this morning. Of course, loading money (with fees) is at least possible. Actually paying someone from my Epass wallet (with another fee) is apparently impossible, still.

Being charged fees for putting money in and taking it out is the most obnoxious part of the deal. But even that could be shrugged off if the darn thing even worked.

The new error message when I try to send money is:

"You do not have enough transactions to complete this request. Please try again later."

So apparently I need to pay more than one person at a time? Or send them two separate amounts? How is that even possible?

I had a problem at first buying from amazon - but now it works pretty much every time.

The trick was to only give amazon the 5 digit zip code, not the 9 digit code.

Now I think of amazon as the one place epassporte almost always works.

Thanks for letting me know Bill! I'll see if I can get it to work now. :)

Mr Spock 2008-10-26 03:21 AM

Never had much of a problem myself and I always swipe my card at various stores.

RageCash-Ben 2008-10-26 05:23 AM

Epass works fine for me. I withdraw money via the ATM all the time.

I know it sux when you do have a problem though, support is apparently really bad.

pc 2008-10-26 09:21 AM

Only problem I had is that they totally mixed up my login, password and name on a debit card when I was signing for it.Other than that is all good.
