What methods to us to convert foreign traffic?
 

Does anybody have a good program, or service or some adult site or whatever, that they recommend to make a site "user friendly" for foreign traffic? I essentially want a way to detect the country then have a translation available for the orginating countrys language, and then translate the entire site for that foreign surfer.

I have an ungainly amount of foreign traffic that if it would convert for me...I would be able to wipe with $100 bills (maybe) instead of charmin.

Any recommendations is greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance.

Check out Sex Money - thay have all kind sof ways to filter the traffic & send them to a site that is in their language :)

You should definitely check out http://www.sexmoney.com if you have that much foreign traffic. Translating your site would basically mean paying somebody to make a copy of each of your pages in a chosen language. For example if you wanted your site to be translated into French & Spanish you would host a version of your site in both of those languages on your server. Then when somebody clicks on the French flag, or whatever, they will be taken to that version of your page.

Do a search for translators on the major boards and you're bound to find some leads, there have been alot of webmasters asking about this over the years.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll definitly check out sexmoney...might be just what I'm looking for. As for paying someone else to translate every page, might also be an option I will take if all else fails.

I have translated many of my sites into 7 or more languages and it pays off big time. However you have to know the cultures ideograms and slang as well.

I joined Sex Money about an hour before the radio show, within 20 minutes I recieved a phone call from Matthew (Chipmonk) welcomeing me aboard. He had allready looked at my hub and told me he had some ideas to help me generate more traffic and sales. Dureing the conversation I told him that I also had a paysite and he asked about my foreign traffic. I get alot and just figured it was part of the game. Then he told me I could install a redirect script that would send the surfer to a website in there language. I get about a signup a day and 70% are in Southern California so most of my traffic is just a waste of bandwidth. Matthew set up the script for me and held me by the hand untill it was installed. He had a hot date tonight and I'm sure I caused him to be late, his last words to me were he would call me in the morning to discuse some ideas he has for my hub.

Hey Surfn, when you did the translations, did you have to make a big noticable change to many parts of your site?

Like the slang for instance...what exactly did you end up having to change the most? Like, text links, descriptions etc. I've got a feeling I f'ed it up there and have been loseing alot of potential sales because of not targeting with those type of changes.

TijuanaPat, I just signed up for sexmoney to give them a try. I'm still looking into doing other methods to try and get every last bit of potential out of my foreign surfers as I can though.

From the looks of what sexmoney has to offer, that may just be the ticket! I would be pretty satisfied if I could gain a sign up a day from my foreign traffic...I have enough of it as it is, so that would be a good gain. I'm seeing a pretty fair amount of signups now but I know I could maximize alot more with my foreigns.

Time will tell though.

Don't get "somebody" to translate your sites! Better get someone with EXPERIENCE in adult site translations. ;)

Each translated page is unique so yes there is a noticeable difference from English to a translated page and from language to language. They aren't the same look with different words.

Surfn is 100% right. Knowing and using the typical slang of each language makes a lot of times the difference between earning money with your international traffic and wasting it. That is why I would never work with a non-native speaker as a translator. Perfect translations are the key to international traffic conversion!
Look at major companies like sexmoney, nocreditcard, etc. which have their pages translated into at least a dozend languages!! They know why!!! ;)
