Having a spam free day?
Check this story out seems like a major spam host got shut down.
Host of spam groups cut off Junk e-mail drops after providers disconnect a California firm http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27689714/ |

Love hearing news like this. |headbang|
On a related note, I found this very interesting: Spam gets 1 response per 12,500,000 emails Now thats a damn good ratio. |
Normally we process about 685 inbound emails per minute with a peak around 6300 inbound emails per minute. Today, we're around 148 inbound emails per minute.
Serious dent in things. Its a shame it'll be shortlived -- they shut down the command and control network, but, the machines that were compromised are still compromised, and once they reestablish a connection with their parent, it'll be back... sadly. |

|gabbo|What? No more 'CHnEAaP_VIiAnGRiA' every other email?
That California firm must have been a MAJOR player in spam. I was wondering why my email box seemed so empty these last 2 days.If we can smash whatever firm is responsible for the remaining junk,we just might be on our way to completely spam free mail boxes!|bananna| |

I've seen a drop in incoming spam, but nowhere near as dramatic. More like 30% less than usual.
|
that's a very good news. I won't get tired of deleting those unwanted e-mails.
|
I got like 15 mails from MovieRoom, does that count? |couch|

I went from 1000+ shit emails a day to 40 usefull emails a day.you all cant imaging how happy i am, but still now you all can understand why i thought my emailbox was broke when i got only 40+ a day the last 2 days

I vastly prefer it when a sponsor sends their unedited newsletter, figures out that they stated something incorrectly, sends the corrected newsletter 10 minutes later, then sends another 5 minutes later because they discovered yet another issue. I've been seeing that a lot lately. |
Unfortunately i opened an email with japanese characters, been getting lots of similiar shit since then, like 90 a day...|banghead|

That Cali firm doesn't waste any time getting back on their feet.
|gabbo| CHnEAaP_VIiAnGRiA anyone? |
