Welcome to TGIF

Good Friday morning. :)

Dropped the wife off at the airport at 7am, she's off to Calgary to visit a friend for the weekend. Usual work for me all weekend it looks like.

Mornin' y'all,

My main goal for the day is to avoid the Black Friday madness.

|coffee is on, help yourself...

Morning Perverted World. :)

Thanksgiving dinning at Christine’s parents actually went really well and was probably one of the best Thanksgivings that I've had in many years. We gave them a Acer Aspire One 8.9-inch Mini Laptop as an early Xmas present (we only had 30 days to return it if they didn't like it) and they loved it. It came with a trial of Micro$oft Office but we put Open Office on it and they were shocked that it was free and was just like Micro$oft Office. We also replaced the IE icon with Firefox.

Doing the gym once I'm fully awake and then just a day of work planned along with staying away from the insanity at the malls.

Good Morning,

Woke up late and I need to get ready to meet a couple of friends to go to the Phoenix Auto Show. Last time I went to one of these was in Detroit a few years back and it was fun. Then one friend wants to go buy a new TV, not looking forward to that since crowds are going crazy, but a friend is a friend. :(

Hope to make it back early afternoon and get some rest since tomorrow we go visit my in laws and is going to be another Thanksgiving kinda day.

Good Friday to you all.

Morning all. MadHatter and I had a great day at home, cleaning the house, enjoying each other. I also played a lot of Oblivion and ate way too much Baklava, lol. It was the first day I can remember taking the entire day off work online.

So back to work today to make up for it!

Have a good one all.

Good Morning All :)

Good Black Friday Peoples |buddy|
We had a rather lovely day here yesterday. Nothing too big: 2 step-daughters, 1 boyfriend, my mom & step-dad, The MaryLou's - a nice little dinner. After everyone left, The Bitch & I watched a movie called "Then She Found Me" |barf| I just want to rate it with 1 star in Netflix & noticed that it's available for download from them. So not only did we watch this piece of shit movie, we paid for it ON Demand when we could have watched it for free |banghead| Someone need to feed Helen Hunt a burger.

This morning, The Bitch & my step-daughter went shopping at 4 AM to cash in on the big sales. I slept :)

Sabres play Pittsburgh tonight - Yell & I get to see Sid The Kid & Malkin live in person |thumb

Good Morning :)
I am still stuffed. The In-Laws want to go to Disneyland today so at least I will be able to walk off a lot of what I ate yesterday.

docholly 2008-11-28 11:49 AM

Morning.. |yawn|
I worked until noon then went over to Redrock Station (too far for frequent visits) to the movies (Role Models-- funny "boy fart" type movie) then to Salt Lick BBQ for dinner. Nothing like pork for Thanksgiving. Judging from the crowds you'd never knew there was a recession. Played 20.00 and left with 35.. a nice little win.. then drove back towards the strip. With the rain and fog it was a very eerie scene. The MGM makes it look like the Emerald City.

I'm going to the far north -- Santa Fe Station -- because they have a show this weekend and I'm trying to get in at the last minute. I'll have to wear blinders since the predominant product is guns.

Have a good one.. hopefully after dinner..lotza surfers bought porn or at least today while the wifey is shopping.. |thumb

Good Morning
I had a nice day yesterday myself. I went to my son's in laws and had a very nice dinner. After, I just came home and spent a nice evening doing nothing. :)

Very cool :D

Had a great Turkey day with our little family. One of the best Thanksgiving dinners I've had in a long time, followed by lots of red wine. |loony|

I'm trying to spend some time with the kids and family this extended weekend so I'll be on and off. The wife wants to put up our fake Christmas trees today to start getting in to the holiday season. |santa|

Have a good one all. |waves|

Evening all:) its 9:44 evening here and i am just finished with my network...for 3 days, yes i worked ahead and no i cant look into future, but i have some bosses who like a backlog, so i can work ahead when i want some days off:D
I had a great day with the hubby yesterday, i think i needed a special day with the hubby alone ( no nagging kids), because i feel great today!!!
We have a friend of my daughter sleeping here for this night, nothing worser then 2 giggling 14 year old girls...but they are spending the eve upstairs in my daughters room, hanging on msn and xbox life and all that shit, so they dont bother me.
Tomorrow i wont be around, because then we are going for some skie lessons with about 30 friends, hell why? i realy dont know, i never skied, i dont like the cold, but the guys came with an bright idea to go to Zoetermeer (is an indoor skie, snowbard thing) take a lesson for an hour and then free skieng, i know where i will end after the one hour lesson......in the bar, doing the "apres skie" and laughing my butt off and pointing fingers at the ones who are "realy gonna break a leg":D

I wish you all a great weekend |boobies||waves|

Torn Rose 2008-11-28 03:56 PM

Wow... no idea how or why I posted this in a day old thread... I feel smart.

_____________

Morning, we had a great dinner last night as well as upside down pineapple cake for my birthday, so I gained a few pounds over the last few days.

Not sure what is planned today, Toni is leaving in 4 days for 10 days to visit family and I am trying to decide if I want to go to Canada or Seattle or just stay home the entire time and play Xbox 360.

I finally got the new Madden '09 yesterday and I am not sure what to think, it appears better, but so much more to learn and I totally sucked taking the defensive test. I sucked so much I am starting to get obsessed over it which is never good when the point of the game is to chill out.

Wiki has a long, boring description of it, but it's the first time I've heard the origin that they are using. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Friday_(shopping)
I've always thought that Black Friday was named so for putting retailers "in the black," being that the Christmas season can make them or break them. Accounting-wise, if a business is unprofitable, it's "in the red." If it's profitable, it's "in the black."

I survived Thanksgiving, helped my father deliver more of his rustic furniture today, came home to an empty house and slept for a few hours. Now I'm wide awake, rearing to go, and still quite alone.

That was interesting, I too always thought it meant retailers went "in the black" on this day. Given I was an accounting major in collage in the late 1980's, might be why I thought that, lol.
