Bang Bros. Stats

Anyone know if Bang Bros. stats only counts hits to the join page?

Anyone?

That's my guess mate, but even then, they seem extremely low, so it's probably uniques to join page from surfers that are on 800x600 resolution using AOL.

:) That may be it. I have a tiny click tracking script and there's a troubling difference between my stats and theirs. There's always a difference with any sponsor, but with this particular banner, the numbers are way out of whack.

I always thought it was 2nd page, much like Fetish Hits used to count. Other programs that have used that affiliate admin have has 1st & 2nd page totals.

I thought it was 1st page uniques. I'm at 1 in 1245 for the month there anyway.

You aren't making me feel any better. :) I don't know what they're counting, but it looks like it's a 1:8 ratio of what I'm sending. So those banners will be gone post-haste.

UW, has it been this way for some time or is it something youre noticing just recently? Mine seem to be in order..shitty but in order.

I've never promoted them before, though I have been signed up for years. Actually, I did test them a month or so ago, but very briefly because there were zero sales in an amount of time that my standard sponsors in that same slot would have produced multiple sales. I decided to give them a slightly more thorough try this time. I'm not saying that I sent a ton of traffic to them, because I didn't. They would have had to converted really well for me to look past the stats issue.

I don't have the patience to throw 5,000 hits at a sponsor to see if they finally convert. If I don't see a sale pretty quickly, your banners get tossed. Honestly, if a sponsor claims that Site A is converting at 1:350 - and I don't see a sale after 351 - GOODBYE. :D My traffic is too precious for experiments.

I wonder if those small numbers are join page ratio ..and then I guess we just came full circle from what you originally asked..fuck me. I didnt help did I.

You can try adding one of their link codes (pointing to a site you don't promote so it registers as 0 clicks in your stats) to a basic html page, upload it somewhere, and have a few people with different IPs click it and see if it registers in your stats after an hour. It helps if they haven't searched for porn recently and have cleared their cookies and cache before clicking your link.

I've tested link codes before using multiple IP addresses (dynamic IP -- a dial-up connection's only plus) and browsers cleared of private data to find out they didn't seem to track. It's disheartening.

Yeah - I seem to remember working out at one point that they were clicks to the join page being shown.

They convert ok with some (ok, 1 that I personally send to) sites, it's just that the stats are so shit. I'd keep the banners up for a while before dropping them, as you may well see that even though the reported hits are 1/8 of what your script is counting, the sales (and that's the important thing) do come in, and may be in line with what your traffic normally produces.
