Bugs in wp 2,7?

I am installing, or at least I was wp 2,7. But for some reason I cant get up the themes and edit them. Seems like there are a few people having problem with this other then me.

So now im back to version 2,3 and will work my way up to see where the errors start. All I get from 2,7 is sorry that file dont exist, please try again.

Anyone had this problem with the latest?

I upgraded all of my blogs from 2.6 to 2.7 and haven't had any issues at all. If you can post the actual msg we can probably figure it out.

I never use a WP release until it's had at least three minor updates. The original release and teh first update release always is buggy.

V2.63 seems to be stable enough for what I do but I still have some blogs running 2.3

I just installed v2.7, and it seems that is not working properly, I don't know what is the reason but is working very slow. :(

I upgraded my three blogs to 2.7...no problems here. I do like the new control panel.

I changed server, now it works...go figure..:)

Maybe it was a server requirement issue or one of the files got corrupted while uploading! Glad to know you got it all sorted out! I have all of my blogs updated to 2.7 and have had no issues with my themes. I even edit them in the admin panel without any problem occurring. :)

Good for you... I think I'll make a tube site instead of the blogs. One of them crashed, lost 3 weeks of posting and everybody has the flu etc. But I cannot post or it gets lost forever.

I got a new one but wp 2.7 is messy for me yet. I think I should go back to 2.6.5?

HowlingWulf 2009-01-30 12:37 PM

I think 2.7 is much better over 2.6 but that's my experience.

Also, try do back up your mysql database on a regular schedule so you won't lose so many posts.

Ask your host to set up a cronjob to back up your blogs every other day or week depending on how much you post on your blogs. :)

Hey, you! A server crashed and was offline. We got regular free backups and they recovered most of it today. They just asked me not to post and it is terrible to sit here and not able to do anything but hurt.

I'm using 2.7 for 4 new blogs I've created in the last month. No complaints so far and I like the new admin interface. Still using 2.3 on the rest of them and am happy with that for now.

Did they tell you why you can't post anymore?

I would suggest you to try to do a new installation and import the latest database fror your blog and to try posting a new test blog post. If it works, let them know it.

They do heroic efforts to recover it based on the backups sitting on another server which is/was offline. Now they have more important clients than me and here's the flu and whatnot. It can be recoverable "if I don't post" I was told so.
Don't even mention me databases lol, I am coming from the dtp (desktop publishing, print media) side.
My next site will be plain static html I think, a hub but I will be faking some tgp and wp features :)
Thank for the tip btw.

Oh forgot to add that I was using 2 not to wisely constructed mac minis which overheat often despite the new fans and lost the 3 yr old one, it won't boot. So I am a bit nervous, I am sorry, it's going like this from last Friday on.
