What would you charge to build me some blogs?

I just had this thought -- some of you do a lot of this creating blogs stuff, unlike me who just has a handful, so you'd be much more efficient than me at doing this.

Say I asked you to build me 10, or 50 or 100 blogs on free blogging sites. Do the set up, do a few posts on each, submit them to a few blog directories etc. The normal set up stuff. Then hand them over to me.

I'd be using them as feeders of course so I'd want to specify the themes.

And I'd be perfectly ok with you including your own sponsor links and stuff in the initial posts, so you may get something out of that.

I know I could do this myself, and probably use tools to do it more efficiently, but I'm so swamped at the moment I'd like to subcontract it.

So what do you think? Interested? How much?

It takes me about 2 days to set up 1 blog and make posts for 6 month (one post a week and 10 posts to start it up) So I would say it would cost pretty much to have 100 blogs set up. :)

But then again I might be a slow worker.

HowlingWulf 2009-01-15 02:19 PM

This is just my guess on how much it would be:
It takes me up to 60min to set up a new free hosted feeder blog depending on how much widget code etc I can re-use, using 4 morphed blog posts from my already existing unique blogs and importing my blogroll from an OPML file. That's cutting corners. If you want someone to write the posts, figure $20 for 4, and maybe another $20 for the setup and a few more for submitting to directories... maybe $45-50 each? note: all IMHO and assuming a native English speaker.

Interesting thoughts, thanks. More interesting that I don't think either of you are offering, your just suggesting a fair price. Right? But apparently it isn't a good enough price to get anybody to actual make me an offer -- which seems to say to me that it still isn't enough!

You could probably find someone to do the initial set-up for a couple bucks per blog, plus a little more for posting to them, though the posts probably wouldn't be up to your standards. There are teams of webmasters out there that work for next to nothing by our standards. I doubt they produce anything of great quality, but for boring/slave labor tasks like that, it might be worth hunting them down. You could create a thread in the "I'm looking for.." forum and take bids.

CumSensei 2009-01-16 07:06 PM

I would say it all depends on what you are after. Are we talking handwritten post or feeds? Because handwritten post would cost oyu more.

Why not hire creative writers/webmasters from outsourcing agencies? I am pretty sure they could do a good job for you.

I've tried those sorts of low cost outsourcing before, and to be frank you get what you pay for. I've never come away happy -- probably because I'm looking for something more complex than they are used to providing.

What I'm looking for is some quality, and what I need to work out is can I afford to pay for it.

Handwritten.

I have writers on tap actually -- not from those outsourcing agencies -- but collected from various sources who are all native speakers and good creative writers. But they are all really *writer* writers, not techies or webmasters, and they have enough trouble coping with wordpress and complex tasks like inserting images; I couldn't ask them to do the blog set ups, or that initial spurt of promotion.

Maybe I need to split this up into a group of smaller tasks and have different people do different ones. But then I end up with the coordination and management aspect. No such thing as a free lunch, even if I am willing to pay for it!

I think I can help you out with the blog stuff. I can create for you a number of blogs, configure out , i can create around 10 post on each blog for the begining and keep the fresh content on them with 1 update post per week on each blog.
Also i will add each blog in 10-20 adult blogs directories and interlinked with this "small empire" just created. All you need, is to provide me with content, including TEXT,because i`m not a native speaking english and may be a problem this.
If you are intersting ,please lemme know.I will send you and PM soon as i can. Thanks

Hi There,
I can write the posts and set them up for you on a free hosted blog which would cost $40 per feeder blog with four unique posts written by a native english speaker. Posts and default advertising would be from the sponsor/sites of your choice. You can then log in and modify anything. If you just want unique posts I can do that too.

Thanks to both of you but it appears I'd need both of you to have the complete package I'm imagining! :) E.g. FuckingBastard can do the setup and promotion but not the text, while saucygirl I'm sure can turn out the text, but might not be interested in doing the promotion (submitting to blog directories etc).

Looks like a one-stop-shopping is not going to be an easy find and I'll have to think about how to split it up into sections for different people to do.

Actually, I am including doing the promotion part as well (submitting to blog directories etc.). Splitting up all that work I know would be a pain which is why I am offering the service. :)

Hi Hony,
Just attempted to email you but it has bounced back. Please email me when you can at webmaster@saucywords.com. I look forward to hearing back from you.

That's strange, anyway email sent.

Hi Hony,

Let me know if you're still in need of a writer. My copy skills are solid.

Thanks but I'm looking for a complete service, not just the copy writing. I've worked a bit with saucygirl and FuckingBastard and now thanks to that have a better understanding of what is needed when it comes time to do some more.

John. 2009-02-28 05:15 AM

would be very interesting to see how this project turns out, if it's worth the investment :)

i'm considering building a similiar network of free hosted blogs but going by the estimates above i'm having my doubts as to whether its worth doing.

hony 2009-03-03 04:06 AM

John, I'm not really finding it useful in the way I expected. I may have to turn back to some auto-splogging and see how that compares for RIO.
