Your Thoughts On Hybrid Galleries

Some galleries have videos samples and thumbs leading to fullsize images.

Ive seen some of them listed @ Tommy's . I think they look nice.

One big question that comes to mind. The mixing and submitting to TGP's and MGP's.

What's your experience getting these type of sites listed? Are they converting better? Do MPG's and TGP's accept them?

I've never built one, so no experience there, but I will list them.

I accept them but thats not news cause you already posted that |jester|

LeRoy ...
I made a couple Hybrid galleries a while back. My experience was that many of the TGP/MGP accepted them as long as when you submitted you adhered to the rules of the main type of gallery your submitting....pic or movs.

I created this gallery and submitted as a picture gallery : http://jesterssecretstash.com/tgp/0308/11/

I've not seen many hybrid affiliate built galleries, but I've done well with some hybrid sponsor hosted pic galleries where a single video clip automatically changes to show the most recent update.

That may be a bit problematic for an affiliate to pull off, but I suppose if a new video clip file and thumb were uploaded to overwrite the existed it could work. Would it set off any red flags with gallery scanners checking for changes?

I am almost positive that if you are only overwriting the files, it wouldn't set off any red flags with gallery scanners checking for changes. But I am positive that it would set off red flags if the coding is changed, for example, from "file.mpg" to "file1.mpg" or from "file.mpg" to "file.wmv".

Scanners tend to check the date and/or size of the listed HTML file itself. Can't guarantee it's still that way.

TheHun prefers them with both movies and pics, that's all I know :)

^^^
Thats why I originally started making them specifically

This is a lot of good info. Thanks everyone for the great advice.

It sure would be nice if there were Link Lists that would accept "Hybrid Freesites".

I guess that would be another topic though :)
