I normally let it slip but now I get really worried.
I am sending around 10.000 yahoo search hits I get on a porn picture to one site. From Januari till now I got 5577 first page hits with 3419 trailer views and not one sale???

Note this is a well known sponsor who use to convert at 1/800 now I am at 1 /11423.

I can't understand why people are clicking the link of which they know they are going to a pay site but don't flip out the credit card.

Is this due to the crisis or what or is this an example of extreme shaving?

I don't think anything is normal in this biz.
For what it's worth my ratios took a massive dump in the last 10 days, about 80% off.

You mean yahoo image traffic or just yahoo traffic?
Assuming not many sponsor show trailer views I guess I'm sending some of my yahoo image traffic to the same sponsor you do
Since January I sent 21355 hits which resulted in 20129 trailer views and 5 sales (1:1,875/join page hits) Its acturally better ratio I had since Sept 2008 - Jan 2009 (1:2,483 /join page hits)

So yes.. that kind of traffic sucks but you still get a sale every now and then, so its better to have it than not :)

It's the times. It completely sucks right now. I will say it really has forced me to get my ass in gear on a lot of projects that I have had in my mind for awhile.

With all this work once times turn around should see a nice bump.

More then likely when you see a huge drop off in conversions like that....its something personal

the sponsor probably seen you bad mouthing them on one of the boards or took something on your site the wrong way

My question would be, are you comparing apples to oranges?

In other words, when you were converting at 1/800 were you sending the hits the same way (10.000 yahoo search hits I get on a porn picture to one site), and are you sending them to the same page at the sponsor...or was the traffic you were sending from different sources when you had the 1/800 ratio (freesites, galleries, etc) and to different sponsors tours?

No it's not a famous pornstar.

Awstats gives anal and anal sex as main key words but those are not the numbers that I get on the pic page. So I find it hard to tell how they get there in such numbers. It might be because awstats don't show yahoo images results.

Are you sure that it's Yahoo traffic and not a bot hitting that page or someone hotlinking to it? Have you looked at the referrers in your raw logs?

I don't see a bot that comes close to the amount of hits I get to that page. I have hotlink protection plus it must be surfers because of the amount of tour page hits and trailer views.

I think Mateusz is right together with the constructed and planned crisis.

It could probably just be the crisis, though that rate is surprisingly low if you have that many search hits.

since about 1 month I get more traffic but less sales :(

I have now some sponsor's ratio extreme low,
eg. on Nasty$ I make only 10-20% of what I have 1-2 months ago :(
for my luck by many other's conversion is only a bit lower than usual

traffic amount/source is the same or even higher ...

Lets hope it get any better soon. I gues everybodys balls are bursting and they will start to pay for some good porn again.
