Sponsor promo days piss me off sometimes...

You know these types..

$100 signup day on Sunday!*
(*Must email us with the amount of joins you got to receive the higher payout within 48 hours....)

Specifically, this is the latest Triple X Cash promo.

anasporn 2009-03-12 03:39 PM

personally, I refuse to push sponsors like that. YMMV

Greenguy 2009-03-12 03:57 PM

You can thank the brilliant marketing people at Dee Cash for those. Their network is notorious for that crap.

I think most places blame it on NATS, where they can't change the payout for 1 day or you'd have to use different codes or something moronic like that (I don't remember what the example I heard was)

anasporn 2009-03-12 03:59 PM

I've heard this more associated with Archive Cash, but then again I have been out in left field for a few years.

Greenguy 2009-03-12 04:02 PM

I think you are correct. The people that own them also own a lot of programs.

I personally don't care anymore about the 1 day sales events - I tried it with one or 2 & it was a pain in the ass. Just give me reward points like Pimp Roll or ARS & I'm a happy camper.

The one I have personally seen the most board threads about is TrannyPay.

Anyone regularly offering High PPS promos for something other than a new site launch, relaunch, etc. is highly suspect in my book.

Maybe that's why I promote mostly revshare programs.

hashbury 2009-03-12 08:43 PM

What kind of promos would you guys like to see for revshare programs?

70%

Toby 2009-03-12 09:01 PM

I'm happy with revshare programs that pay 50% and rebill well,

I'd rather not see special promos unless they're launching a new site etc. and are running a PR campaign. I'd rather see that time, effort and money spent on keeping the sites updated and affiliate content fresh.

Same here. I *had* a sponsor like that where I was averaging approx $90 per sale on 50% revshare ... then they put in some ugly cross-sales (very decptive IMO and I can be damn lenient!) and raised the revshare (but no credit for those cross-sales) and tried to convince me I'd make more with a $45 PPS.

I didn't fall off the newbie truck last night! Pulling links as I find them.

HowlingWulf 2009-03-12 11:42 PM

I'm a fan of the random prize patrol type. For a pay period one sale gets you one ticket and at end of period X tickets are chosen for random prizes. That way I feel I have a chance against the 'big boys'. I'll spend effort to promote that. I don't like the 'Send 100 sales in a pay period and we'll send you an iPod!' type promos.

Toby 2009-03-13 12:01 AM

Just make the site convert and retain. If I'm making sales and rebills I can buy my own iPod.

Exactly -- the only measure I look at is the cheques I receive. Actually I don't even look at individual cheques but rather at the year-to-date income.

I remember once getting an AWE check for a huge amount and going to investigate and found I'd won a random prize -- I hadn't even known the promotion was running so it had zero impact on how much I was promoting them.

Presumably these deals attract more webmasters or they wouldn't do them -- but surely it will attract more newbies who are hardly who they want.

Promo days can piss me off too. The fact you have to email them kinda sucks. Whatever though. I do it with one program and a couple pay period ago just sending an email got me an extra couple hundred bucks. Felt it was worth the couple extra minutes. Now this is a site I promote on the regular so it wasn't like I went crazy tossing banners up all over to make the sales happen.

One project however I need to work on is just banner spots that I can rotate in and out really easily across my network. One day I'll have this in place. Then I can try to at least take advantage of more promo days.

faxxaff 2009-03-14 11:19 AM

In many cases their timing is unclear and a bit catchy/shady. Like one time they had a 2 day promo ... you would get paid the promo on day 1 and 3, but it wasn't valid for day 2 in between ... I hate this promo BS.

Dead on.
Could not have said it better.

LeRoy 2009-03-16 04:45 PM

I tried it once by building and submitting a bunch of freesites before the big day.

I did get a sale on that day but I put the wrong link up |cry|

But it rebilled yesterday and that's 30% of the 100.00 sign up. So if the surfer rebills another 5 times I'm cool.

Anyway I dont play games with contests after that.

I'll just stick with the tried and true and that's "Revshare"

bDok 2009-03-16 08:06 PM

when fuck you cash had it for the sites pimp parade and 40oz bounce I really liked it. Even with having to email them. I wish they had it on those sites still. :)

Me too. I about fell over when I opened a $500 check from PimpRoll for one of those, I didn't even know I won, lol. And I like the points too, I keep telling myself I'll trade them in for something eventually.

But I love rev-share the most, not some sell more this day and get a bunch of money crap. Rev-share is what kept me going through the slump of the last few months. Thankfully, sales are picking up this month, which for me historically, is when they do. |thumb

I had to laugh at promo I read yesterday.

Send 150 joins before April 1 and during Phoenix Forum the sponsor rep (female) will take you to a local strip club for an evening in VIP room with her and a stripper of your choice.

{heavy sigh}

Can I sell her to my friends and pocket the cash instead?

Let’s get a little business done before the show! Send me 150 joins before April 1st and I will personal give you a Laptop at the show!

Doesn’t sound like something you want, send me 150 joins and I will personally take you to Christie's Cabaret- you can pick the stripper of your choice, then you- me and the stripper will head to VIP for a night you will never forget!

Note: Must have an account under my name to qualify.

Not going to the Phoenix show- Stay Tuned there will be more promotions to cum.
I don't know what bothers me more; the fact that she's whoring herself so heavily to scumbags, or that she so childishly wrote 'cum' instead of come.

Greenguy 2009-03-17 01:21 PM

I too love the promos where, if you could actually do that, you'd have no need for whatever they are giving away.

Even if that promo started March 1st, 5 sales a day (to ONE program) = $4500 - I think that person can buy their own stripper.

Who's going to Phoenix? Maybe we can all team up, send traffic to that program & get one lucky board member a lap dance. Wouldn't be hard to tag the links so that the money got sent back to everyone.

Who's in? :D

Yeah I saw that as well Toby and I have to think how low can it go really. Not only does that seem that the program is desperate but the rep as well.
