Anybody getting fucked up rss in WP?

I thought it was a certain sponsor, but now it is happening with several sponsors. I upgraded to latest version of WP a few weeks ago...no problems at the time, but it's looking like that's the problem. Looks like its posting the raw html code..(?)

Doesn't seem to be theme specific either..

Anyone else notice this problem?

YES!!! I am ready to break out the BFH!!! (or just tear my hair out)

Looks like it's stripping the "<" and ">" from all the post.

Damn, shit and fuck!!!!

the original feed doesn't appear to be encoding the section and wordpress is taking the content handed to it as text, and entifying it.

That would be my initial guess based on the screenshot.

I am using Blog's Automator, and I can go to the post there, view it and it looks fine, copy the code (it list each post and has and editor), manually paste the post into WP, and everything is fine.

Interesting though, I can hit the "blog now" button (which is a way of publishing the post from BA to WP) and it's fucked.

It seems to me in WP....stripping some tags for some reason.

Under settings / writing settings make sure WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically isn't checked.

I know that in 2.5x there was an xmlrpc exploit that was not fixed in 2.6x versions. They may have fixed it in the 2.7x versions and caused this problem.

I'm hating WP more and more each day

Thanks Walrus, but still broken...:(

walrus 2009-03-25 12:59 AM

I suspect it's an issue with WP trying to fix the xmlrpc issue.

Kaktusan should be told about it as he probably is the only one who can fix it... unless you want to not run 2.7x

Thanks, all...and Walrus I'm going through some threads on WP alternatives. Since i only have 3 blogs, I was hoping to be spared some of the issues, guess i'm not gonna be so lucky. :(

A lot of us are! Whitey mentioned something called Habari, and I am waiting to see if he can get that dog to hunt before I go breaking it. (Walrus said he wasn't impressed by it) Textpattern and MovableType both seem a bit too techy for *me* but if you don't routinely break supposed idiotproof scripts you might want to look at those. I've also heard about B2Evolution and Nucleus as alternatives, but one was recommended to me by a script jockey and the other by a self-professed web geek ... then there is joomla, which by all accounts has a "steep learning curve" but those who get through it swear by it.

I have some custom themes I need to check on...I might just roll bak a few versions, although I am still not sure that's the problem. Current version was working fine, then it was broke.

(pissy mood alert)
IMO WP has screwed the pooch since moving off 2.3.3 ... and now they have firmly moved into "goat-fuck" category, completely skipping "cluster-fuck". They must truly have my husband's FUBARed chain of command working on the recent upgrades.

Did you upgrade BA? That would seem to be the only other variable in the equation.

Or, perhaps add a new plug-in?

LD 2009-03-25 03:51 PM

I did find this:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/libxml2-fix/

and

http://joncanady.com/2009/01/wordpre...e-bracket-fix/

Neither of these are working for me at the moment, although at least (I think) I know what the problem is, and others are experiencing the problem as well.
