NicheGreen changed their links for referring webmasters

Just a public service passing this along. In case you didn't get or read the email they sent out yesterday, here's the text from the message telling us to change the links if we want to get credit:

Greetings, NicheGreen Affiliates!

This is notification of a Maintenance Update to NicheGreen today, May 1st, 2009.

If you are referring webmasters to NicheGreen, you will need to UPDATE your linking code to continue receiving proper credit. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Due to the recent influx of fraudulent webmaster signups, we have chosen to manually review all new incoming webmaster joins to our program in order to help keep the integrity of our program. Accounting for our affiliate program is still handled using CCBILL.

Please update your webmaster referral code as shown below:

http://www.nichegreen.com/ref.php?affid=XXXXXX

(whereas XXXXXX is your CCBill affilliate number.)

Remember, For every webmaster referral, make an additional 10% off of their sales!

Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding!

Just let us know if you have any questions and we will be happy to assist you!
Thanks for promoting and for your support!

STAY TUNED FOR EXCITING NEWS from NicheGreen in the days to come!

I'm always so |bananna| to get these kinds of notices, where the webmaster has to go change all of his links if he wants to continue to get paid.

At least this is only about the webmaster referral links (so far), but if this is any indication of how they 'solve' problems (by making it our problem instead) I'm not sure they won't ask us to change the rest of the links sometime in the future.

from: http://www.commandlinefu.com/command...g-inside-files

find . -type f -exec grep -l XXX {} \;|tee /tmp/fileschanged|xargs perl -pi.bak -e 's/XXX/YYY/g'

Find all files that contain string XXX in them, change the string from XXX to YYY, make a backup copy of the file and save a list of files changed in /tmp/fileschanged.

Linux... LOL.

Hey guys, don't worry you actually still get credit, even keeping your old links, because CCBILL still retains your cookie =)

So everything is still tracked.

The difference is, in manually approving applications, we want to have your ref come through to us, also, so we can also keep track on our side, as well, which webmaster referrals are coming through ;)

It's a double assurance thing.

We had to go to manual approvals because of the amount of fake and fraudulent webmaster signups coming through, so doing it this way just helps us keep out that kind of stuff, but as i said, ccbill still retains your ref cookie either way.

Also, this link code change is ONLY for webmaster referral linking, and will not be happening on any other linking codes.

If anyone has ANY questions, concerns or needs help with anything one on one, just let me know icq#143-690-760.

And thank you for your understanding |thumb
