What is your best overall free site?

What is your best performing freesite ever? If you're willing to list it, I would love to see them.

I predict a whole lot of nothing.

Who wants to put up their best freesite and see it get ripped off?

I guess you're right, I was just curious to see how other people go about it, ones that are more successful. I know I wouldn't rip anybody off, but I agree that some people will.

When I look around on some of the link lists and read articles, magazines, message boards, etc on suggestions for building free sites, that is good knowledge, but I like to look at how other people are doing it. Just for additional knowledge really.

Just look at what some of the major sites are listing...

I hear ya, I agree, I always think that when I build a site or gallery, that there is one or two things I am not doing that would make it a great gallery or FS. That is why I always surf the other free sites, but you have no way of knowing if the site your looking at made the owner a nickel or not.

I have seen some of the best looking sites that I thought made a killing, and only to find out from the owner that they were ok at best. Yes, the traffic is the most important thing, not the way the site is designed, the niche, the text, the SEO, but those do count for something.

Even a low CTR site can outperform a high CTR site if enough traffic is thrown at it. Trying to nail down the perfect design is kinda like trying to herd cats...

Just don't overlook the important of the title and description. That's the second line of offense in getting surfers to your freesite.

I've got some freesites that are complete shit, but they make money. Then I've got well designed sites that pay nothing. It's a tough game...for me at least...knowing what sells.
