Question on sub-domains, doorways and getting listed
Hello everybody
Having received good critics for my last attempt on free site design, I am almost ready to go on a paid host, but still have a question that needs to be clarified, provided I can put it down in a way you can understand what I mean. Let’s suppose I get my own domain – www.bert.com and I am doing free sites for blondes and brunettes. One way would be to use “sub-domains”: http://blondes.bert.com http://brunettes.bert.com But I saw a thread where LL owners said they don’t accept sub-domains. So, another way, using directories: www.bert.com/blondes www.bert.com/brunettes And since I will be making more than one site, they would go like: www.bert.com/blondes/01 www.bert.com/blondes/02 www.bert.com/blondes/03 Now, for LLs and doorways (need at least 3 of these) www.bert.com/blondes/01/01/index.htm www.bert.com/blondes/01/02/index.htm www.bert.com/blondes/01/03/index.htm and naturally, the tour and galleries pages will be placed in the correspondent directory. Furthermore, I would submit each index page to SEs. Does this make sense or am I thinking wrong? Would love to hear your comments, especially from people operating LLs. All help welcome and much appreciated. Bert |
You are much better off naming your directories with niche keywords instead of using numbers.

That sounds good, except you might want to change the 01/index.html
02/index.html to description/index.html keyword/index.html that way it does not look so obvious. Just a suggestion. |
damn cleo, you beat me by a few seconds. LOL.

What Cleo said...
Subdomains have become some new gimic, but like most gimics are not of any real value. Sub-dir is easier, quicker, and less likely to disappear. DD |
